No, the whole point is that I will not be playing it anyway.

Nope, sorry. If ME3 has a multiplayer element of any kind (co-op or not) I will not be purchasing it. That is set in stone.
Anything else is tolerable.
I would still buy ME3 but my faith in BioWare, as well as their believability, will be severly damaged. If after all this denial of ME3 multiplayer rumors, they still manage to put it in, I don't have any words to express my feelings at that point. Well I do have some words but I won't be using those on these forums:pinched:

I HIGHLY doubt ME3 has Multiplayer options...I cant say that for certin...but I just doubt it. If it does...I will still buy it, because I'm buying it for the single player...i dont give a damn what the mutliplayer is...because I wont be useing it. which is why I dont really understand the hate for the idea....just dont use it, pretend it dont exsist...thats what I do with my games. I mean really...you think all those hundreds of thousands of battles on Halo matchmaking are canon events that take place in the timeline? hardly...so really I don't understand the seething rage for the concept.
Get ready for your OCD to mess with you, then. There's a reason EA games got yanked off Steam. They've already officially killed BF3's Steam appearance, and I expect them to do the same thing on ME 3.Zakatak757 wrote...
ME3 damn well better be on Steam.
I have the ME1 and 2 on Steam, and having the third elsewhere would make my OCD scream.

Yes. Please notice that I was speaking in the past tense (For ME 2 anyway). The point was they got yanked in the first place. And the BF3 thing is official word from god.kylecouch wrote...
Except I still see ME2 and DA2 and such on Steam.

True enough...but Origin will quickly fail compaired to the awsome power of Steam.
Really?...I saw it up Yesterday lol.
I hope it does fail. Pretty spiteful, I know, but I hate that EA is attempting to steal/ruin such a good thing.kylecouch wrote...

What does EA hope to gain with Origin that Steam does not already give them?

I hope Bioware doesn't use that as an excuse to slack on any aspect of the game, and that they realize just how high the expectations for ME3 really are. It may not be a shared consensus, but I'm willing to bet a significant portion, maybe even a majority of Mass Effect fans expect ME3 to be the best game of this generation, and definitely one of the best games of all time.
Let's recap. Mass Effect 1 is nearly unparalleled when it comes to story, immersion, and background universe. ME2 improved greatly on the shortcomings of ME1, making it a very polished shooter, including epic presentation throughout the game rather than just at the beginning and end, doing a fantastic job with characterization, increasing the humor (just how many memes spawned from ME2 again?), among other things.
Mass Effect 1 was hailed as a gem representing a high-water mark for video games as a storytelling method. Mass Effect 2 was called the greatest game of the modern era by IGN. Bioware, realize what you have on your hands. Mass Effect 3, in this gamer's opinion, has a chance to be the greatest game ever up to this point in time. It definitely has the potential to make Mass Effect one of the greatest series of all time.
What will make this happen is if you include the best traits of both games according to the loyal fans who have been with Mass Effect from the start. I'm not talking about the hardcore RPG fans, but I'm definitely not talking about the shooter fans who are only looking for cool explosions and beastly guns. Stick to the company's roots, remove the impractical and include the modern action gameplay, but NOT at the expense of good storytelling, deep characterization, and real decision-making.
This is my imploration for Bioware. Make this game as if it were the last one you all ever made, and make some history. Let's make Commander Shepard a household name. Let's sway the minds of people everywhere to not be afraid of aliens. Let's get more kids and teens interested in the development of space exploration and travel. Let's show people just why we cannot continue being divided and conflicted as nation-states. The potential is there. Time for something truly epic.

I fail to see how ME3 could be a "bad" game.
Combat looks better, and combat, like it or not, is part of Mass Effect. It looks very Gears-esque, which is a good thing considering they have nailed 3rd person shooting.
They brought back attachments and ammo's from ME1, but at the same time, don't have you spend 2 hours of gameplay converting things to omni-gel and selling them. I couldn't fkin stand that.
From what I heard in the demo, Shepards voice acting has improved significantly. Mordin was using a stand-in voice actor before you go their.
We have no reason to believe ME3 has made any comprimises on story. There is 2x the amount of dialog as ME1, which had a fair amount. Also, side quests are apparently story-relevant now, and anomaly missions were my biggest issue in ME2. They were waste of development and time.
And, even if the game turns out to be bad, at least we will be getting some closure. I'm buying it and I think you should to.

Probably a bargain bin for me...if I'm feeling generous.
ME...BioWare games in general... never were about the graphics and shooting/slashing for me. It was about the story/atmosphere.
And both DA2 and ME2 fail in that regard.
I'm not even sure I want to see the end of the story. I'd rather live in blisfull ingorance than to face a dissapointing story.
