Except that the clip in question was from a very, very old stage in development, and a dev commented on that Asari being a "test asset".
If he's telling the truth, then it's just a test asset.
If he's not, then the simplest explanation is that it's a very early Liara, given which Asari we already know is in ME3, and which Asari has been in most of the subsequent demos (along with Garrus).

And as I asked on the other thread, do you believe the dev when he says it's not Liara, and yet not believe the dev when he says that it was just a test asset and not a mystery Asari?

I never said I didn't believe it was a test asset. Why wouldn't it be a test asset if he said so?

I know we already have a Quarian (well some of us do), but I feel bad about Lia'Vael. I hated that I couldn't do anything for her, I was forced to not be able to help the Quarian on Illium, but I could help out the guy on Omega. Heck, Tali couldn't even help her out not that she should, but she benefited the most from Shepard's involvement.
Also, if it's going to be another Asari I have to throw my vote in for Shiala. Every time we've met up with her there's always a hint that there's more to her involvement in the series than is shown to us. I'd really like to wrap up or have her develop more and then see her in action.

All Quarians get some form of basic combat training before they go on their pilgrimage.

Basic combat training won't help against most of the enemies Shepard faces. Tali is useful due to her being more capable than the average Quarian when it comes to tech. Plus she has fought with shepard earning her training under fire.
She could stay on the ship as a engineer there.

I wasn't aware that basic combat training is all it took to be on Shepard's squad. Heck, with my brown belt from the local McDojo, I should be his/her number one wingman. My passive bonus would be Sarcasm. Actually, that might be more of an active power at this point.
Needless spite aside, I just think that there are more qualified individuals out there, individuals we haven't yet encountered in ME1 or ME2.
I got a single MaleShep who woulnd't mind going nine rounds and more against her in ME3.Dog of Snore wrote...
My mind just keeps going back to the last dialogue with Garrus before he loses himself in those blasted "calibrations".
Garrus spoke of going nine rounds in a hand-to-hand match against a female recon scout, and only managed to prevail in an after hours "tie-breaker" in her quarters. If a turian woman has enough fight to give Garrus pause, I fully support her for the ME3 team. It's well past time we got to see a female turian anyway, just for curiosity's sake.
If a squaddie can fight (and prevail against Garrus, no less!), she's good to go far as I'm concerned.

I don't know nor understand what the tone I'm detecting is for. If it's directed at me it's obviously unwarranted. Please see my other response. Thanks.
