A new female squadmate?

We know we've got Vega, and since everyone gets Liara, another adept is redundant. So there's three unknowns, and one of them is female.
Still room for that batarian.

I wonder if it will be Kahlee Sanders.
She is the main character of all three Mass Effect novels.

We have 3 confirmed humans already, so I guess that means no Kasumi? Damn. This new girl better be fricken' awesome.
I just figure were a little late in the series to start pouring in new characters.

I suppose anything's possible, but Arrival would seem to make that a tricky choice to justify.

True, but I'm not limiting my guesses to assumptions of what Patrick meant.

Fair point. I figured the "vigilante" character BioWare was talking about was going to be Gillian.Jayce F wrote...

What's that in your hand? I have it. It's that batarian squadmate I keep pushing like a drug dealer.
THE BATARIAN IS NOW POSSIBLE!
EDIT: Point of the story is that a geth would have seemed unlikely, too.

Geth are machines. They don't have emotions. They can easily logically separate "killed a crapton of things like me in self-defense" from "worth allying with."
Batarians are not machines. They have strong emotions. It is unlikely they can easily logically separate "killed a crapton of completely innocent things like me for an abstract reason" from "worth allying with."
Again, anything's possible. But again, tricky to justify.
Also, you're going to need to post some pictures of yourself in a towel while sitting on a horse if you want to get anywhere with that line of reasoning.

Well, the guy obviously doesn't have to feel comfortable about it, but if the Hegemony is already crippled and Shepard really is the galaxy's only hope, I can see someone who's serious about the preservation of his species joining up.Quething wrote...

Back on topic: Can't wait for the Turian/Human/Batarian hybrid female squadmate! Yes she is now part Batarian.

Ah, so sort of a mid-war recruitment once things have really gone to crap for the first wave of targets? Yeah, that'd be pretty cool. Certainly the batarians deserve the face time, they're currently even less complex and nuanced than the Reapers.
It could even be a batarian female! Two birds with one stone. (Female aliens, BioWare. They're less work than creating the vorcha....<_<)
Yeah, there's a problem with the horse...
But the horse is the most important part!

And batarians totally deserve some development.

See, I was actually okay with how they handled Wrex: development, awesomeness, and played a role in the story. So long as they do something of that quality with all non-returning squadmates, I'm good.Yannkee wrote...
I don't want a new female squadmate, I want my ME2 squad.

See, I haven't really thought too hard about the sexing as of the four romances I've done so far, three are confirmed returning squadmates.Athayniel wrote...
I think folks with ME2 romance characters will want a bit more than a 'Wrex on Tuchanka' situation. Most still equate romanceable with 'on my squad', rightly or wrongly. Something which Kelly not awarding the Paramour achievement only solidified.
Oops.

Man, I'd be surprised if he were wrong. And if he is wrong, I really ought to remedy that.
Anyway, I fully support the batarian thing too, Cheez. Make it a female batarian lesbian for all I care -- knock out three pyjaks with four eyes, as it were.
