Um, I don't think you can honestly tell the difference between Europeans, Canadians and Americans in the ME universe. And yeah, that's a phantom.

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything but didn't they say in one of the Q&As that there wasn't going to be any female turians, salarians, etc other than the krogan "princess"?

Oh yeah and my opinion on the new fem squaddie.

I want someone who is practical, wears proper armour and has absolutely nothing fanservicey about her.
Race is not an issue but human, turian and batarian are my preferences.

IF I see her in a catsuit of any sort she'll be met with an immediate bullet between the eyes.

I really hope she isn't Human.

Now, I'm certain I'll quickly get past that minor quibble should it prove to be the case, and either love, hate or whatever her based on her actual design/personality. But I still hope she isn't Human. Batarian, Turian, Krogan - whatever, something new!

I think she's salarian equivalent of Matriarch Aethyta - lady who decided to abandon politics and do some actual fighting. Since Garrus is returning if alive and Mordin is likely cameo'ed.

Don't mind me quoting an old post. I would support this idea very much so. (the whole female Salarian aspect that might not be concerned with the conventional Salarian ideals) Sure, she might not be the most aesthetically pleasing character but she could have one heck-of-a charming personality. Even if there isn't supposed to be anymore female alien species made...

On another note I wouldn't mind if this new squad-mate is human. As long as the character design ends up practical and the personality is compelling I'm sure it will cater to some fans. Female Turian would always be interesting but last I recalled I don't think there is more than one of a certain alien race on the crew is there?
