Me to it would be awesome. Maybe a way to troll everyone any male shep who hit on the hot LI is told that she is Lesbian. Then any fem Shep who hits on her is told she is married.

It would be hilariously delicious.

The more I think about it, the more I figure we are going to need ALOT of new crew members. I haven't tried myself but I believe you can survive ME2 with only 2 crew members surviving.

Obviously BioWare wrote that eventuality in, so they will have to write in enough potential crew members to fill a crew of Shep + 2 from the previous game.

Doesn't necessarily have to be from the previous game though... if I'm understanding your post correctly.

Virmire Survivor, Vega and Liara -- none of them could die in ME2 and they're apparently confirmed. So that's Shep + 3 right off the bat, even if Garrus and Tali (both apparently confirmed to return in full capacity) are dead.

The devs' insistence that 'permanent' has something of a new meaning this time does bug me though. Plus I doubt three squadmates will be all people see in a minimum run. I'd imagine they want more than that for everyone, even those who imported and killed Garrus and Tali at the SM.

Actually it would be Shep +4.

You need 2 people to survive Virmire or Shep will not survive (I think that is what the SS thread says, I have not tried it.) So those two, plus Vega and Liara. Liara may not be available as a full crew member though with her current full-time employment  On that note you can also say we have Ash/Kaiden available as well.

So we are at a possible minimum of Shep +5 for Renegades. I still think there is more then one new one on the way. Time will tell.

We are saying that many players who took a Renegade path only had Shepard and two other survivors after Virmire. If less then two survive Shep will not survive either. At least according to this, I have not tried it myself.

If you add up the two who survived, and those three, then there are players out there with only 5 potential ex-crew. BioWare will obviously be aware of this, it must be in part of their "plan" since they wrote it in, so it seems a given that there has to be new crew possibilities. Five is just too few.

Yes it was rather odd that you could play a Shepard that was both a xenophobe and xenophile. He supports the supremacistic and elitistic Cerberus agenda yet dates a alien? Hopefully the new LIs will be more consequent when it comes to things like that.

Perhaps the pro Cerberus Shepard can keep dating Miranda but will naturaly not be allowed close to the new female turian squadmate and LI. And vice versa for the tolerant Shepard.

More like there are players with potentially only 2 squaddies, Liara and VS (no one has both Ash and Kaidan). There's absolutely no chance they created 'full-squaddie' scenario for all 13 ME2 characters. And 2 of these 13 could survive. We basically already know who they 'picked' - Tali and Garrus - to have 'full-squaddie' option. But some players may have these two dead and only characters without 'full-squaddie' option available. So IMO there will be at least 4 new squaddies. Vega, new female + 2 other new characters. That would make the absolute minimum team of 6 which is the lowest number I can imagine BioWare allow.

Really? It wouldn't bother me to see players who got both teams slaughtered (ME1, ME2) end up with a tiny squad in ME3.

But that's NOT going to happen, BioWare basically confimred they won't be 'punishing' people, rather treat it like an alternative scenario. In the end, we're still be getting at least 3 new squaddies - Vega, new female, Prothy, so that already makes 5 with Liara and VS, just as much as the minimun count in ME1 (if you don't recruit Garrus or Wrex).
