doesn't matter, he's there regardless. the choice is more about who you think should represent humans, either on their own or with aliens. i dig anderson, good man, udina's a dick, but suits a completely renegade shep.

Udina is a dangerous candidate. His primate pride was almost responsible for letting the Reapers get through the Conduit. Locking down Shepard was, for me at least, the last nail on the coffin to show this man is not worth his job.

Anderson for council. As Jacob points out, it's good to have someone who cares about defense.

I really wouldn't pick either of them. Anderson has limited political expertise, Udina is unpleasant and doesn't come across as a particularly able diplomat or politician.

Actually Udina is supposed to be a fairly shrewd politician. He did afterall push pretty hard to get you in as a Spectre.

He was of course dead wrong about the Reapers. "It's just politics..."

I always picked Anderson. I don't think Udina is a horrible choice. Essentially due to the events in Retribution, Udina ends up as the Councilor by ME3 anyway.

He probably is supposed to be a decent politician. But when all we see him doing is shouting a lot and being a slimy unlikable bastard, it's hard to buy it. That's not to say that politicians and diplomats can't be slimy bastards, but they should at least try not to give off that impression so blatantly

Actually, if he is the Councillor in ME2 then Anderson pulls of some pretty deft political maneuvers.

Udina is an ambassador. His job is not to screw over the people he represents, rant at the people he should be appeasing, and at the very least should he be doing decisions based on what he thinks. Ambassador is a link between two governments, not a fool who ruins military operations with his primitive sense of glory.

Heres an idea. Play your own game and make your own decisions instead of asking everyone on the forums to make up your mind for you. You will enjoy the game more.

Udina will always end up as councilor but that doesn't mean that I have to pick him originally. I picked Anderson because i can trust him and he won't stab me in the back when i need him the most...

I always pick Anderson, but the game will force the decision to Udina in order to follow their idea of how it should be for ME3. I do not like this idea, but thats how it is - they make it so that your decision was moot - your choice was not a choice at all. I am not even sure why they offered it.

because they had not written the plot for ME3 yet back then?;)

Of course, if you don't choose him in ME1, he might try to take revenge on you by backstabbing you even more in ME3...

Anderson just seems more of a logical choice, tougher, more workman like than Udina. Considering the situation at the time of making the choice (Citadel in ruins, Humans up and coming in Galactic affairs) having someone with a no-nonsense approach to Human interests but also with a a fair view of Galactic Cooperation seemed like a good idea.

Plus he doesn't talk **** like Udina does.

I picked Anderson, as Shepard said there are already enough politicians on the Council they need a war leader there.

my main reason for choosing anderson is because i prefered his character, udina never really got on my good side. also if you read the mass effect novels and get history on anderson, he was a great commander and got screwed over by saren.
