Okay I have a few questions since I am a complete noob when it comes to computers and would love for some more intelligent people to help me with a few questions please.

I went on this website called can you run it? Most of you should have heard about this website already before but I was wondering is that site accurate? I was getting so worried and so scared my computer wouldn't meet the system requirements for Battlefield 3 but it easily passed the test on that website PHEW! What a relief :P I am so happy! :):):)

One thing I was worried about though is when it said how much video ram required you needed atleast 1 gig but my card has 2 gigs it even sais on the box it is a XFX 6950 HD radeon 2 gig card but it only sais on can you run it that I have only 1.7 gigs of video ram does that sound like a problem?

Thank you so much guys here are some screenshots.

Also so I don't; have to make another thread what minimum system requirements would you need to run the latest games coming out in late 2011/2012 1080p?

Computer specs are.

Windows 7 ultimate.

8 gigs of ripjaws DDR3 RAM.

i5-2500k second generation 3.30 GHZ

XFX 6950 HD radeon 2 gig card

850 WAT Corsair power supply.

Thank you again guys :)

Edit reason: If you have troubles reading those links remember to hold the ctrl key and scroll in with your mouse it helps :)

Your computer is fine, since everything of this generation is engineered to run on stone-age equivalent consoles

Clearly you don't know about Battlefield 3 then.

I heard even the console version of Battlefield 3 is supposed to have borderline PC level graphics, while PC has ultra advanced graphics.

Your Computer is great, but don't count on you playing BF3 Maxed out in 1080p(although the beta starts next week, so make your tests there)
it doesn't seem like there will be any game next year(or even 2013) that will have the Graphical power of BF3, so if you can get a PC that can run it maxed out at 1080p, you should be fine for a couple of years, however, for now, i think the only of playing BF3 COMPLETELY MAXED OUT, is to go Crossfire or SLI, so if you have the money you should consider if you really want to play at max settings.

Oh, and btw, you can Unlock your 6950 and turn it into a 6970, which is more powerful, by upgrading the BIOS.
Search on the net, i'm sure you'll find some place ;)

CanYouRunIt is not always accurate. For example, it said that my computer could easily run The Witcher 2 without any trouble, yet I have to turn all the graphics to "low" in The Witcher 2 to make it playable on my computer.

Hey guys thank you for all your replies so far :) but there is still a question unanswered if someone could please let me know why is it that the website only said I have 1.7 gigs of video ram when the box I purchased my card in sais 2 gigs? Thank you

The reason why the website shows only 1.7gigs is because Windows 7 always reserves about 10% of the memory for the operating system itself. If you're running "aero" (the transparant glass-style GUI) it can even reserve 20% of your memory.

So it's only normal that CanYouRunIt only shows 1.7gig of your 2.0gigs, because that 1.7gigs is the only amount that's avaible. The other 0.3gigs is reserved by Windows 7.

Oh and about The Witcher 2 and my rig:

I (try to) run The Witcher 2 on this rig:

CPU: Core i7 quadcore (2,93Ghz)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5750 (1GB)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)

Don't pay attention to what that site reports.

It reports my Video RAM as 2.7 GB when my card only has 1 GB.

You can see much more details with GPU-Z
