The N7 logo isn't that recognizable to most people. Maybe to gamers, but at my school only a handful of people would have an idea what that means.

Pretty much this, and even then not all gamers. Mass Effect is still to be considered "obscure" outside of the gaming community.

Yeah some people may not recognise but what are you going to say when thy ask wha it represents? You will sound like a right muppet describing what the N7 stands for and then explaining the entire synopsis of the Mass Effect trilogy.

That's why you would just say "It's a military symbol from a video game".

Because Godwood idiots like that can make a persons life hard, especially when you see them a daily basis, how would you deal with going to school, college, university or work being called Commander bender or a gay space marine, ready to probe every man available? And I'm not insulting the homosexuals here, being called gay is a real common insult, I'm doing the guy/gal a favour here.

And what would you say when people ask what videogame it is? You will like look a **** explainin that to your parents, partner, friends, children and every other member of society. Mass Effext 3 will be big, advert will be everywhere and everyone will see that N7 symbol, you might as well tattoo a massive penis forehead.

You're overestimating marketing, and exactly how judgemental people are.

Many people I know don't even know I have many tats; I hide them well.

I would either get it on your right pec where it is on the armor or on your shoulder or something....and if you're so inclined, right above your dick where your pubes grow (you'll need to shave constantly, though)...or if you really want you can be classy and get an N7 tramp stamp...

and you could also tattoo your dick like the Normandy or like the Claymore

gives you one more meaning for boomstick

How would your close ones react when you describe the tattoos origins and then explaining the games plot. And a tattoo such as the N7 symbol won't be pretty as you grow older.

You could always just muse: "I give you a sixpack if you can explain the meaning of this tattoo to me." and keep your own mouth shut, you know.

Do never underestimate the power of the sixpack!

I'm aware, I went to a conservative Christian highschool where I often got hassled for my Varg Vikerness length hair and for spending my lunches playing D&D with my small group of friends.

However because I'm a naturally aggressive and confrontational person whose always up for a fight (be it physical or verbal) people eventually learned to leave me alone.

Moral of the story? Be a big enough of an arse and people won't bother you.

Or simply scare the **** out of them by always glaring like you're about to murder someone. Worked for me.

I always thought when you got a tattoo you would want to show it off.

Getting an N7 one and then hiding it all the time kinda ... kills the point. You'd be better off getting Patryk's fanart of Zaeed somewhere, OP,  now that would look badass.

Thinking of getting a Mass Effect tatoo aswell, was thinking a small paragon logo.
OP, i think the N7 logo will look good and not obvious to anyone who doesn't play ME, and its way more personal than half the stupid people around my area getting tribal/Celtic/Japanese tats without knowing the background of the piece.

Do you mind if i ask what other design's you have had done?

Works too, though that earns you a notorious reputation. Which is not bad by all means if you are into such kind of stuff and want that reputation ...

I have however learned that the easiest way of dealing with such people is to simply and completely ignore those people. They are like trolls. Always on the search for easy prey. You can make yourself always a tough prey, but not recognizing yourself as prey to begin with and completely ignoring any predatory ambitions such idiots might hold proved so far a hundred percent effective.

But then you get the councilors after you and that's only fun the first few times.

I actually drew and designed these on my own and just gave them to the tattoo person...

What, they are going to attest psychological problems because you look in a way they don't like? What country do you live in, I am getting curious.

edit://
The F*ck?! That's you Stardusk? Gee, I would never have imagined you looking like that ... you may want to look into some kind of Hitman tattoo. Agent 47 code on your backhead ...

Good for you Godwood, but not everyone is like you, some people will fight back, some people laugh along with it and some people take it to heart and will plague them. If the op is like you then I would agree with it, but your hair style can change with in minutes and cost what like 10 quid? If the op really wants it then go for it but if he/she does then just be prepared to deal with snide remarks, having a tattoo then wanting to remove it because of cruel jokes would be a waste of time and money.
