You don't know that, or what she wanted, besides freedom.

From what Samara has said it is. She wanted freedom and she got freedom which she used to deprive people of life because it fueled her addiction. Now, you'll say that because she's an addict that she needs help and I think that spending the rest of her in some institution for the criminally insane in a medicated stupor would be something you should find satisfactory. They can help her there.

I don't think that she is mentally ill. I think that she needs a friend, and the asari to change their regulations.

I think the reason she came along w/ Shepard because she really wanted to meld w/ him but she couldn't use her Dominate ability on him so maybe she came along to be able to seduce Shepard into melding w/ her and at the end of the SM she convinces Shepard to do so and we all know what happened then. It makes you wonder what Morinth would've done after mircrowaving Shep's brain.

Fly out the airlock when EDI fails to read Shepards life signs?

Or turn the Normandy into a bloodbath.

You're blatently ignoring the facts of the matter. She had friends, and then proceeded to kill them.

Not with EDI on the watch.

Well she definitely isn't mentally ill but I can't think of a place where she can be kept for the safety of others and be helped. If there ever was a time that she needed a friend it was cetntureis ago before she decided to run and start melding w/ people and killing them. The only thing an AY can do is to abstain from melding w/ people but it seems that the Asari governemtn doesn't trust AY to do that and rightfully so, I say.

As far as I know they were all mindcontrolled, and I know only 2 - the village and Nef. Village gave her sacrifices and Nef sounded completely brainwashed in her journals.

I think she would be welcome in many places if the AY situation is resolved. Military most definately, with her abileties maybe even a spectre.

Well, there's a good chance that she would've taken out a large portion of the crew before she was put down.

Listen.

I know Morinth was given an unfair choice.

Which makes her a tragic figure, but doesn't give her a moral blank check.

She helped me fight the reapers, even was the successful bubble girl on the last mission.

Great, she saved her own but from getting killed by either the Collectors or Shepard.

She is being nice to my Shepard.

because Shepard could kill her/have her killed at anytime.

I don't know her morives enough.

Assuming you ment 'motives' there, I can tell you that her motives are that of an addict. Just trust me on this one.

Why would I harm her? She didn't harm me when we were in that room alone, with Samara dead.

I think she realized that biotic or not, Shepard was strong enough to take her down on his own, and she can't do the dominate thing to win. Besides that, preventing her from killing more innocent people is about as good of a reason as exists to harm anyone.

1) It just means that she needs help, imo. That is just debetable.

No it's not.

So let me get this straight: Morinth was holding on to her life for 400 years to risk her life on a suicide mission for a CHANCE that Shepard will meld with her, so that she would take out, if successful - Thane, Kasumi, Miranda and Doctor Chakwas, and fly out the airlock to die. Did I get it all right?

She gets power, she becomes stronger, her nervous system raveges her partners and becomes better at controlling biotic fields. That's the main goal of melding.

Yep - and if all she wants to do is live free and hide, she needs none of that.

She's killing because she wants to - and that makes her a monster, responsible for the deaths.

Again we don't know that. What if she for example wanted to become strong enough to get her sisters out of seclusion, as someone mentioned?

The keyword is bolded. You've just failed the discussion..

Well, I'd like to think that she would attempt to steal the shuttle.

And again it is not mutualy exsclusive. She may need power to survive and want to apply it somehow.

Doesn't matter. She had what you claim she needed, then killed it.

The fact that she brainwashed these people in order to get them to like her before she killed them doesn't make it any better. She is still a murderer, and monster, no matter how much you want to convince youself that she is not responsible, it was her choices, however crappy the options, that directly lead to these deaths that she willfully caused.

There is no justification, and saving the galaxy from the Reapers is the only possible redemption, and she is not needed for that, especially when you have to give up Samara for her.

You really need to study the definitions of needs and wants.

Turn off all wireless communication so that EDI has no access point to the shuttle's systems.

I actually italicized the word "attempt" to emphasize that she would try to do so and not neccesarily be successful.

If she does need it, the Asari were absolutely justified in preemptively confining her to protect everyone else.

If she merely wants it - then my earlier arguments apply.

Seeing as the Normandy has no control over whether the shuttle is operational or not I figure it would be pretty easy if you know how to pilot it.

Ok soo. If Morinth chooses seclusion she is screwed, because she hates it more than death. If Morinth chooses death she is screwed. If Morinth chooses to run away and hide she is screwed, because without the power to fight back she is all alone, there is a chance that she would be killed by random mercs or thugs, or if she ran very far it wouldn't be different from seclussion. And if Morinth chooses what she chose she is SUPPOSED to be screwed

I really can't grasp the concept of providing the person with only bad choices and then punishing the person afterwards.

Shot down by the Normandy much? The most advanced human vessel.
