1) AY are addicted to melding. This is fact.
2) Morinth is not human, this is fact.
3) Morinth has killed Nef, a human on Omega. Nef has no possible means of influencing ancient Asari doctrine on how AY (a dirty Asari secret) are treated. This is fact.
4) All of the conversations Morinth has with you in her apartment imply that she enjoys the hunt. This is the only one that may be taken as an opinion.
5) Morinth hunts other beings in order to increase her own power and feed her addiction. This is fact.
6) Morinth kills people without provocation and uses hypnosis on others. This is fact.

So, no, you really can't.

1) No. AY just WANT to meld. They can fight it.
2) Well yes she is an asari..
3) So?
4) So?
5) So?
6) So?

It doesn't change the fact that she was treated wrong and that could have been avoided.
I stand behind her.

1) An addiction can be fought, but they are addicted to it. It's stated multiple times in ME.

I thought my post was full of lies.  When you've done nothing but say "so?" to facts.

She was treated wrong, but that doesn't give her the right to murder who she pleases.

You act like that is easy. They attempted to deal with Morinth. Its not easy at all. The person who could be sent to deal with them can easily be mind controlled.

Make AY justicars then. No possesions, respect and awesome powers to fight injustice.

HAHAAHAHAAHAH...NO!!!!!

Arguing with you is both annoying and hilarious at the same time.

You said you read the codex? Well did you miss the part where it mentioned that AY are completely incapable of feeling empathy? Morinth will kill people regardless because she doesn't care. She is incapable of caring.

The way she was treated it does. Is her murdering people ok? No it is absolutely horrible. She is not the one to blame though.

Yeah, so that makes it ok to kill innocents.

As I said before.. days ago.. if Morinth chose to kill only other killers, or slavers, or even the very ill or elderly.  If she restrained her needs to at least cause the least amount of pain for others, Id be behind you 100%.  She was on Omega and picked a teenage girl... and yet you still stand behind her.

Yes I stand behind her.

It's not safe to let her stand behind you...

By calling D.Kain a troll is being nice and I hope its true. Otherwise I may have to assume the title of God Emperor of Humanity and send in some Psykers to deal with the threat to humanity.

Yes because she was not allowed to live freely like other asari.

Most serial killers come from homes where they are abused, usually by an over-sexual mother. Should they be forgiven their crimes because they weren’t allowed to live like other children? I am trying to understand your logic and just can’t because that's what Morinth was--a serial killer.

Actually even Samara said Morinth can't ever stop when she has killed so many times. At this point hell possibly at the start Morinth wouldn't be able to permanently stop. She can stop killing for decades at a time but then she continue.

Is it completely horrible now?  Funny, I thought you said that the asari village and Nef were *****es and deserved it?

Morinth is entirely the one to blame.  The Justicar may have made her run, but she chose to kill.

Yes, it is.  She had the choice to not do it, and she did it anyway.  The moment she chose to do it, then it became entirely her fault and her responsbility.

And if she was subject to an irresistible compulsion, then the need to keep her locked up becomes self-evident.  It sucks, it's not fair, but if she WILL kill if allowed to go free, then the rest of the Asari have to keep her locked up at that point.

That's what you're missing with all your hippy-dippy "healthy society" and "she just needed love" bull$#!+.  If she had a choice, then it's entirely, 100%, completely her fault.  If she didn't have a choice, then the rest of the Asari absolutely had to confine her in seclusion -- as comfortable and compassionate a confined seclusion as possible, but absolutely necessary non the less.

You know that saying, two wrongs don't make a right?  It was made for this kind of situation.  She could have directed her murderous desires on anyone at all, even those responsible for wanting her in seclusion.  Instead she chooses to kill an innocent girl.  The wronged have no more right to wrong innocents than those who wronged them.  Does some blame rest on the heads of those who wouldn't let her live freely?  Perhaps, but that does not remove the lion's share of the guilt from her shoulders.

She is 100% the person to blame. Morinth wasn't mistreated in any way, in fact she lived just like a normal asari for 40 years. And the day she was identified as an AY and offered the choice to live in comfort and seclusion or die, she ran. She didn't run because she was being mistreated and wanted to be free from it, she ran because she wanted to keep killing people. She ran for her own selfish reasons.

What would be interesting for those who chose Morinth as a squadmate, is if, whenever the crew was at a civilized planet, you started getting news reports about unexplained deaths.

Perhaps even (if you go a while without hitting civilization) losing a (non-squad, nameless) crewmember to an unexplained brain hemorrhage...

Morinth of course, would be completely innocent. >.>

Sociopaths are incapable of forming relationships. They can’t relate to psychiatrists or therapists because they lack the skills to do so. They cannot form interpersonal relationships. So they cannot be rehabilitated. There is no cure.

That's the funniest thing, it's not even that Morinth was abused in any way.  It was discovered that she had a terrible and dangerous condition, and she was offered the chance to live in the most comfortable and compassionate situation possible given that fact, and instead she decided to go out and rapemurder innocent people for hundreds of years.

And yet for some reason we're supposed to have sympathy for the devil...

Exactly, most other species would have most likely killed her without a second thought. Yet the asari chose to give her a chance to live in comfort, free from all responsibility. I don't see why we should feel sympathy for her if she decided to kill innocents instead.

to be honest I expect Humans to attempt to use Ardat Yakshi Humans as weapons. Unfortunately we would figure out its hard to control them then start killing them. Turians aren't necessarily heartless but its possible they would either just put those people in a hole or seclude them off on another planet where the only structures there are dedicated to the Ardat Yakshi. Salarians might end up killing them not wanting to take the chance.

Long story short Asari are the more merciful of the bunch.

To be honest I'd expect the Salarians to try and study them, wich may or may not end up being worse anyway.

I can't see the krogan or the vorcha letting them live though. So yeah, asari are the most merciful by far.
