Then who is? She had a completely normal childhood with a loving family, so that's out of the picture.
Yet when offered the choice of live/ die / kill people she chose to kill people.

Remember. There is ALWAYS a choice, some choices are just harder to make than others.

Morinth made the "easy but evil" choice - kill innocents and use their power to defend herself. Instead of the harder but more morally acceptable choices (Be incarcerated, or escape and try and live by her own wits and personal strength).

Ex:  Say i had a rough childhood.  I decide to buy a gun.  I go into a school and kill many students.  I do it out of my own FREE WILL, i pulled the trigger, not the people who have hurt me in the past.  All evidence points to me being the one to be blamed, and rightly so.

Now if you don't blame me for killing those students, then you are actually degrading me.  For you are saying that i didn't have a choice, that im just some puppet that other people affected and controled, that all the actions i do are because of the acts of other people....that i am a nobody....and shouldn't be responsible for my actions....

So in a way you would be making me feel less human by saying its not my fault.

And if something like that really did happen, and you didn't blame the killer....then you are one sad little man.

It may not be wise to keep the AYs a secret and leave the general public unaware of the danger. However, the AYs have free-will. They do not have to kill people to survive. They do it for their own pleasure - at least the ones like Morinth do. She is responsible for her own actions. Unwise policymakers are not responsible for her, of her own free will, deciding to prey upon innocent people just to get her fix.

Just to survive you mean...

She's not doing it just to survive, she's doing it because she enjoys it. She hunts her prey, then draws them in, makes them fall in love with her, then overpowers their nervous systems and kills them via brain hemorage.

Someone trying to survive doesn't do that.
