Given the way discussions about Reapers go around here, it's pretty obvious most people managed to miss this Legion dialogue in ME2.  So here you go:  Legion explains the Reapers.

Nice - I saved the N7 missions to continue conversing with Legion after the suicide mission because I didn't want anyone to die. I didn't get this dialogue at all as a result. Danke for linking it.

whoa I never seen that dialog, and I've thought I saw it all by now. Good find.

Good find once again, though I don't see anything that should offer new insights.

It's in-game confirmation of the "uploaded minds" notion, as opposed to cut content that can be dismissed with the "not canon" objection (which is a reasonable stance, as things in the unused audio have been changed), and a ton of people still have some very weird, idiosyncratic ideas about what was going on with the Human-Reaper Larva. Henceforth, they can be directed to this as a source.

How exactly do you trigger this dialog? I've played through ME2 a S**T ton of times and never got this.

I explained how in the video.

Amazing. The whole 'time limit on saving the crew' really cut back on (I think) most player's interactions with Legion. I honestly never even heard of this.

And its not like it really is 'cut audio' is it? You can get it legitimately in-game, as per your instructions.

Great find, cheers for posting. The fact that a Reaper is made of billions of minds implies that they literally upload the entire species, or as much of it as they can. I assumed they'd only use a few million, but they take a massive amount of the species - sort of preserving them in a Reaper shell. I'm now very excited to find out more about them in ME3.

I really think Bioware should've gone with the original plan of having Legion stalk you throughout ME2 and have him recruitable earlier so we get more time to speak to him - he's such an interesting character but we get very little time with him, missing potentially important dialogue like this.

All the more reason we should be considering unity with them.

Hm never got this dialogue either. But isn't that exactly what a majority of people think anyway? They were once organics who tried to achieve immortalitiy for some reason.

Well, I don't know what the majority thinks, because I haven't asked them, but whatever they do think doesn't really matter.  I mean, a bunch of people could have thought (just hypothetically and totally not based on anything I've ever read on the forums), that the Shadow Broker was an AI.  And they'd have been wrong, because the game said so.  And that's what actually matters: what the game says is true.

Well, that's a conversation option I sure as hell missed.

I'm going to go put a few check marks on my list of confirmed hypotheses, if you'll excuse me.

I'm not so sure if I want to kill the crew just for Legion to hint at something the geth of all people should at least have some knowledge of.

That is a really good find.

It'd be interesting to find out about the original species that turned themselves into a Reaper(s.)

Fair enough. I just always found it logical that a synthetic/organic race would have started off as organics and then in time turned themselves into cyborgs. That's a pretty common sci-fi theme. And I didn't mean to make it sound that this is a bad find or anything. It is actually a really good thing that it is confirmed ... sort of.

Nice videos and nice find!

At last, perhaps some people who will not understand anything unless being spoonfed directly to their stomach may shut the hell up about us not understanding what the "reapers" are.

Am I correct in assuming you need to do some missions/assignments after recruiting Legion and doing his LM to get the first shown dialogue before the SM, hence why getting this elusive dialogue option costs you (part of) the crew?

Now we know why the Collectors don't just clone human tissue to assist in Human Reaper construction.

At least, assuming this hypothesis is correct. Still, theory fits evidence.
