Whailor, I'm afraid you're incorrect about the chestpiece, The Broodmother always drops it.

nuclearman, did you find the note about the Crosscut Drifters in the room where you kill all the deepstalkers, including the Queen? That one I missed on my first playthrough.

There are 4 Rubble Piles you have to activate to get the Drifter's Cache to show up. They are:

1. Right at the west exit of Caridin's Cross. You're only a few steps away from getting the 'Do you want to gather your party and venture forth?' message. It's along the main road, not in one of the tunnels that's been cut into the wall.

2. On the south side of the bridge in the cavern north of the West exit. It's been a while, so my memory may be a bit foggy, but I seem to remember it being right next to the chasm, a few feet from the edge.

3. Located near the large pillar in the middle of the area (with the Darkspawn ambush). Pretty sure it's on the west side of the area.

4. From the Darkspawn ambush, head east along the main road, then follow it as it turns south. Take the first left you can, and explore. You'll find an area filled with Deepstalkers. You'll even find a Deepstalker Matriarch at the end. Kill all of them, then scour the area for the final pile of rubble.

Once you've found all 4, a large crate appears in the small area just North of where the Ogre Alpha was at. It's literally a very large, white crate. How they're supposed to explain hiding that I don't know.

Now, I realize that it may very well be a bug, and that my post may be useless to you; however, since no-one saw fit to give a detailed description of the locations of the 4, I thought I would. I realize I could give better descriptions, but I'm going off of memory; I don't actually have a character that I can jump into Caridan's Cross to figure out the exact locations. I apologize for that, but I'll be keeping an eye out for it just in case.

To be honest, though, I didn't find the set all that useful. If you're only looking for Fatigue Reduction, Wade's Superior Dragonbone armor does it better. Either that, or the Warden Commander Armor. Wade's Superior is better, in my opinion, because it gives Stamina Regen. Far more useful in combat.

I have to admit, though, that the Effort Armor set really isn't all that spectacular. For an Arcane Warrior, I've found that Wade's Heavy Dragonbone Armor is still better than Effort (better fatigue reduction bonus). And the Effort Armor looks pretty crappy, too. There's something odd about the way the pieces fit on the 'paper doll'. But the Duty helmet is nice, and it pairs up well with the Armor of Diligence (though what is up with the plaid leggings?!). Getting the rest of the Effort set is worth it solely for the gold it brings in.

There's also the matter of the helmet, Duty ....

Duty is the helmet for the Effort armor?  Just gos to show you... Duty's texture doesn't match Effort's texture. Same with the Legion of the Dead armor: the shield doesn't match the armor either.
