What exactly is the temple/altar for Dumat doing in the Grey Warden prison? The Wardens may have built upon existing ruins, but the Dwarves didn't worship Dumat, did they. As far as I know, the Teventers didn't dwell underground either.

The Grey Warden prison is at least 1000 years old, so the altar, I assume was created before the first Blight, and due to the fact Dumat was slain in the first Blight over 1000 years ago, I guess the the altar was built by Corypheus/Teventers.

Was Corypheus cornered there, at that part of the depths? Or was he brought there by the Wardens? I guess if that was where he was dwelling when the Wardens captuerd him, question answered. Also, did anyone else notice the Altar statue is in a similar style to the Lyrium idol? Just a observation.

(PS). I've only played through Legacy once, and starting my second playthough. My memory is rusty.

The original Grey Wardens were formed from soliders of the Tevinter Imperium. Depending on when Corypheus was imprisoned, the Grey Wardens who built his jail could have very well been worshippers of the Old Gods.

Corypheus was said to be captured after the First Blight ended. That does make the existence of the Altar very strange. history says Dumat was not only dead, but to have he'd have just finished leading a Blight to destroy all humanity. Perhaps the Alter itself was built in the Deep Roads before the rest of the building before the Blight happened.

Well, the altar is at the bottom of the Prison, and more ancient , I assume. It seems to be surrounded by regular Dwarven ruins. I suppose the Dwarves lost this area to the Darkswpan/Corypheus and Corypheus moved in, later the Wardens trap him there.

Edit: Yes he was captured after the first Blight. Strange.

The First Blight started in 395 Ancient, whereas the Wardens converted to Andrastianism in the Divine Age (source).  So they would probably still worship Old Gods, but even still, it's strange they'd have an altar to Dumat in a complex apparently created after the First Blight.  The Codex entry on that blight is by Genitivi, and he doesn't say where he got his info.  Perhaps the "modern"/Chantry attribution of Dumat to the First Blight is wrong?  Otherwise you'd think the Wardens would have known there was no point in making an alter to Dumat.  Another explanation might be that they didn't know that Dumat was the first archdemon and later identification of him was somehow correct.
