Well, I don't know who you are, but if you're reading this, THANKS!  You're a generous soul. =]  I dressed up all fanboy-ish just for you:

Looking forward to ME3. B)

That is THE GREATEST setup I have ever seen in my life. Wha;slkdfjas;ldkfjasl;dkfjasl;kdfj;aklsdfj;alsjkdf

I'm practically crying. I'm playing on a 17" monitor that sits on a nightstand next to a couch, with a  radeon 4650. You have two monitors, what appears to be a kickass computer, kickass speaker system, with almost everything a Mass Effect nerd could ever want.

You have a nice setup. With all the updates you've done, that's got to be running up into the $10k range by now?

I just went to that blog or whatever, and good Lord, that is beautiful. I'm trying to hold back the jealousy even more.

Also...are those two computers hooked together? What's goin on there?

Heh, I've seen crazier. Much crazier. But it is very nice.

Don't think they're hooked to each other.

At one time there were three 30" monitors in ATI's Eyefinity (7680x1600), like so:

My main computer (powder coated) did the gaming chores across all three monitors.  However I also had the two outside monitors hooked up to the second computer so I could switch inputs in order to do server and teamspeak hosting duties and the like.  It's all in the worklog I linked earlier.

And uh... yeah, the price tag is up there.

Well having played most of my ME playthroughs on an old AGP card (just recently upgraded), that is like paradise to me.

And so...he has two computers there? Not to sound like I'm nitpicking...but...what for, exactly?

*Edit nevermind, our hero just answered.

Ouch.

Awesome.

Whenever I feel like drooling over insane PCs, I go to Danger Den. Some crazy s#%$ there.

Danger Den is the epitome of "We do it because we can, and it is good."

If I look at 'em too much, it just starts to hurt. I always kinda skipped over the fancy-rig-edition in my Maximum PC subscription.

No doubt, some of those rigs make mine look pre-historic!  I'd love to water-cool, but dang... what I've got has cost me enough already!  I know it looks nice now, but that took me FOREVER to piece together paycheck by paycheck.  I really want to do a new build for BF3, but I can't justify it.  There were special circumstances when I built this beast initially (town flooded -> 1.5 years of over-time recouperating); not so easy now.

I don't mind the shiny. I'm just absurdly jealous of the people that have the time/skill to do insane builds like that. They don't even have to be particularly powerful, just amazing. Like the Lego build.

Yeah, they always had some crazy do-it-yourselfer in there. I'm no designer (when it comes to physical objects, at least) so I always found the different things cool as well.

Yeah, I know how that feels. My budget for my new PC is only $1,500. I really, really want to wait for Ivy Bridge to come out from Intel, but I just cannot give up those Newegg Black Friday prices this time. Missed out last year and ended up way overspending.

I want to do things like that. My professors would kill me if I started lego-ing up the labs, though.

Also, is it wrong I noticed your Cosmos
S case out of everything else initially? I've always wanted to get one,
though now I'm looking at a HAF 932 Full tower case

There are actually twin Cosmos S', one of which I had powder coated.  Love 'em, awesome cases, though a bit pricey.

Neofelis Nebulosa wrote...

@ Vertigo:

Go with HAF932 Advanced or HAF X. Those things are really good, spacious and offer good airflow for cooling.

Good recommendation, though you can't really lose with any of the HAF's, those are definitely the stand outs.

Yeah, Advanced is what I'd like to get, X is a little pricey for me.

Heh, getting OT here

Some nice backgrounds by the way.  I already had all the "official" ones, but the Normandy shots especially were nice finds.  Thanks for the links, I've a new Win7 slide show now. <3

Very awesome what someone at BioWare did for you! And awesomer you posted about it here!! But I must ask, where did you get that awesome desktop wallpaper from? I know it's the picture of the Alliance SR-2 that comes with the N7 Collector's Edition, but I have not found a digital copy that size.

What's your video card setup? Am I seeing three seperate cases? I now feel like a damned Russian serf with my single 1920x1200 monitor. Also, you remind me of this for some reason.
