I think you have the wrong idea of how it works. Play ME2 and see what happens to your body when you go Reaper. Read Retribution and see what happens to your mind when you go Reaper (I admit it was reaper control rather than transformation but it does not bode well for us puny humans)

It's not like you get super powers and a huge spaceship body or anything, it seems you cease to exist at least as an individuum. Not the kind of future I'd prefer for anyone.

Allowing ourselves to become a Reaper is not ensuring our immortality, it is ensuring out extinction. As powerful as a Reaper form would be, it is not invincible, which means that it is only a matter of time before someone manages to pull off another Klendagon shot and kills out the last remnant of our species with a single blow.

Our only true protection from extinction is to spread so far and wide that no single event or campaign will be capable of eradicating all of us.

Also, we are not even at the point where we [i]want/i] to experience the singularity as a society, let alone have the behavioral mechanisms to make the most of it. Our potential would be frozen in a reaper form, and for all its benefits, because we are not ready for it, we will probably not be as 'perfect' as some seem to think. I would rather we encounter the Singularity on our own terms and by our own hand than have it forced upon our species by anyone else.

It sounds like hell to be honest... it's like being trapped in BSN forever.

I'd rather be stuck in the Warp for all eternity.

Human instrumentality project? DO NOT WANT :P (cookie for obvious reference)

Anyway it is impossible for something to be "perfect", a state of perfection is inherently imperfect because it is stagnate. It would also be impossible to know everything in the known universe or even just our own galaxy as just to maintain the font of knowledge would be astronomical in its issues and problems. Also I don't like the idea of being turned into a human slushy.

Well at least this conversation is civil and unlike Saphra's with the petty name calling.

I could call you a ridiculous ponce and go on a pro-Failberus rant  if that would help.

Please    Pre  Rebuild  Evangelion(Those movies a must watch for any  EvA pure awesome)   Gendou completly owns TIM in the evil  mastermind department.... matter of   fact Gendou may be the  GOAT.

Joining the Reapers is such  laughable notion  for me - for alot of the Reasons...  one they can be  killed  and Even Gods bleed. There not peferect  far from it   and nothing in this universe is perfect because if it was the universe as we know would not  exist.

Man I'm on the Dark side.

We're not into that Sh*t.

Neither are Chaos, or Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic evil.

The Reapers are super-mega-ultra-hyper evil and That's a whole nother level.

+ They are immortal. Organic species, who achieved eternal lives. Is that not what sapient species desire? Would you not choose immortality over a meaningless (in the grand scale of time, a.k.a. billions of years) temporal life? The ultimate "life" goal.

Yeah if you can call sleeping for 50K years and waking for for a few decades living.  And what do they do when they wake up, genocide.  No more love, no more laughing, no more walkign outsid ein the rain with bare feet.  No sex, no more tacos.

All they do is exist, if that is what immortality is, then you can have it.  I'd rather be dead.

Immortality is worse then death. Afterlife or no afterlife. It is worse regardless.

I don't need to list reasons why. Just think about it.

Red Faction FTW now about the OP

If being turned into Reaper goo alive and being deprived of your humanity sounds like a good idea then you Shepard can go ahead, most players will be stopping them (including myself)

I feel,as if somebody told me to die to be apart of something. Then its not really a good thing to do,even when you have no choice. The reapers are out controll everything. Why is big question? I see your point, but wrong is wrong. Killing people when ,They have no choice is just wrong.
