Immortality huh. Well let's just hope our ship doesn't get obliterated on down the line by a klendagon type weapon. Or hope we don't decide to exert energy to control a thrall that gets killed by some alien that weakens our shields somehow through technobabble, then we get destroyed by a fleet. I'm sure there was someone like the OP for the species that made up Sovereign, too bad for them. I guess I just prefer the chaotic style of being an organic.

This is an excellent point. Where's the defeatist response?

The universe is not a paradise. There are no guarantees. Die now or maybe die later. Your choice.

Except those aren't the only options...

Uh, do you know something we don't?

Unless you have access to immortality, you do have a choice at a basic level between die now and die later. It's what you do in the middle that counts.

Oh, perhaps I misunderstood the post. I though the 'die now' was resist the Reapers, and the 'maybe die later' was joining the Reapers. In which case option 3 would be 'defeat the Reapers'.

If you want to join the Reapers, then save your money and dont buy ME3. Just get Arrival and let the clock count down to zero.

I really liked this comment. Maybe one of the endings will be merging with the Reapers who knows... then againt, I'd prefer shooting them & big explosions, but that's me.

You understood my post perfectly but there is no option three.

Saphra is under the delusion that we'll die no matter what in ME3 and that there is no way to "defeat the reapers" despite the information that is already put before us.  But, that's another topic altogether.  Point is, he/she is delusional it seems.  The End lol.

I don't deny Mass Effect 3, but without meta-gaming there is no reason to believe victory over the Reapers is possible.

There is also no reason to believe it is impossible. Only quite unlikely.

Keeping the Collector base offers a glimmer of hope. But aside from that, I can't think of anything.

No, he wouldn't. He's too stubborn to face the truth.

Interpretive dance, the one weapon feared by all aliens. Ballet is our last and best hope for salvation.

YEaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....Sorry but I dont RP on the forums.  Here, Im just plain ol' Travis, or Aradace, or whatever other name people use for me lol.  And as "me" I have the knowledge that Im going to be able to defeat the reapers.  But as my "shep", I dont know that.  When Im in character, Im in character and nothing else matters.  But, Im on the forums.  And when Im on the forums, I do NOT rp.  At all.  Ever.  So any response I give to your arguement, assume it's from a metagaming PoV.  If you want that topic to be discussed from an RP perspective, then perhaps you need to tag it as such?  Just saying.

It isn't really roleplaying. There is not much point in debating any of the morality in Mass Effect if we are just going to meta-game it. If we meta-game then none of it matters. Nothing is worth discussing because none of it is "real".

The evaluate a decision Shepard makes, or can make, or to evaluate the characters in Mass Effect, it helps to look at it from their perspective.
