Do I have to be online (Xbox Live) to play the DLCs?

 As per the thread title.

I downloaded and purchased all my DLCs on my old X360, I'm using the slim model now as the old one went boom and I had all my profile, saves and DLCs transferred using USB flash drive to the slim model. In the meantime I decided not to renew my Xbox Live subscription so I'm playing offline now. However, whenever I try to access my save files in DA; Origins, DA2, ME and ME2 (basically BioWare titles), it keep telling me that my DLCs are corrupt etc... I know that the DLCs are profile-locked but I'm logged in to the same Gamertag although I can't be connected to the EA server because I'm not online.

Now my question is... is there a way for me to play my game and DLCs (because my save games are "locked" with the DLCs) without being connected to Xbox Live? Or do I have to subscribe Xbox Live? Thank you in advance!

:)

I just switched over to a new 250GB 360 from an old school white one, and had to re-download all of my DLC to get them to work properly (and I still have a Live subscription). I didn't discover they weren't working until I tried to use something from item pack #1, and got an error message. You shouldn't have to connect to use your DLC, but the files may have actually gotten corrupted in the transfer...

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing you may need to get fresh DLC copies, and that will require connecting to XBox Live.

Can anyone else weigh in on this?

Here is some advice from a friend of mine (LadyJaneGrey):

I can't post in that particular forum. Would you pass on this link to the OP?

OP can still get Xbox live as a free subscription, transfer the licenses, then go offline if so desired.

Based on the link you gave me (the link is not working however), it seems to be a transfer license issues (googling it now). Thank you happy_daiz :)

Pretty much it's probably a licensing problem if not a corrupted file problem. If you have a silver membership online you can easily transfer the licenses over to the new 360. If it isn't a license issue then you just need to re-download the DLC for your games to fix the problem.

Good luck.
