my PC monitor is set at 1600x900 (32x) (Recommend) what it told me.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5000+
8800gt at 1776mb video memory
3gb of ram
DirectX11
I think its enough to max it out.
8800 gt ain't capable of directx 11 features.

I noticed my cpu maxing out in the CC. I'm worried it will bottleneck my card and performance in DA. It has been doing so for many games.

He probably has the E6400 or E6420 (more cache).

Can you take a screenshot of the title screen and/or options for graphics? Are there any options for blood/gore in the game?
The graphics options screen is made up of a detail slider (low, medium, high, very high), antialiasing settings (off, 2x, etc, up to whichever your card supports), texture detail (small, medium, high), vsync enable/disable, resolution, fullscreen gamma, and an option to enable or disable framebuffer (post-processing) effects.
Yes, there is an option to disable persistent gore.

I have the one with 4mb cache (E6420) so I'm stoked that he gets such high max fps. I hope the average fps is good.

nice to have a final, official word on GFX settings, thanks!!! only worry is that there is no anisotropic? does that mean the the ground visuals degrade every couple of feet away from your character? if there is no AS, can it be forced via the video card control panel?
thanks again.

I have no problems with details on the ground. the draw distance is quite far and I haven't noticed any textures updating as I get closer it all looks very good.

Is there a fullscreen/windowed mode toggle in the options menu? Please tell me yes, I often times play games at 1440*900 in windowed mode so that way it is much quicker to switch to other windows if I need to.

I would also very much like to know if any directX 10.1 (the real directX10) or directX 11 features will make an appearance in the game, now or in the near future
No, there will not be any DX10-11 features implemented in the game. Neither at launch or in the future.
Possibly for Dragon Age 2, but definitely not for DA:O.

Oh well, the game looks decent enough without them.

Maybe not max, your video card is pretty good, but doesn't quite meet the recommended specs. You should be able to run on High settings, but not max, at least, it wouldn't be very smooth on max, probably a little choppy here and there, and choppy when large numbers of characters are on screen.
But I would say graphics slider on High, texture detail on medium, maybe High, AA maybe at 2x, probably whatever resolution you have, might be a little choppy at 1920*1200 if you have that, not sure. But you should be able to run it on mostly high (I think I said that already lol).

Mmm, just like the character creator, minus the gore setting

DX10 must be a real disaster if everyone is still using DX9 eh. Can't wait to see the green camp's DX11 offerings.
Developers didn't see DirectX 10 as much of an upgrade and Microsoft had it exclusive to Vista users. DirectX 11 should be a lot better and is not exclusive to Windows 7. Vista will get it in the next service pack (unless they download the beta version earlier).
