So like many others I had an import problem that would have the config screen crash every time I tried importing. I re-installed etc. and had just assumed I had a corrupted save and decided to have a fresh start on ME1.
Anyways, to the point. I beat ME1 and decided to import my character. Everything worked out perfectly (or so it seemed.) At the start of my new ME2 game it told me I saved the council, allowed kaiden to die, etc. After the first level escaping the cerberus base and speaking to Miranda and Jacob on the transport ship, they told me I allowed the council to die, ashley died, basically the complete opposite of what I had chosen.
I double checked to make sure I had even started on my import file, and I did, since I was level 50 in ME1 I had bonus stats in ME2 from the get-go.
Has anyone else had this bizarre problem? I'll try it again sometime today, it was definitely a downer going through the whole first level/cutscenes only to have the worst possible options from ME1 to occur in ME2.
Not the usual "import problem"...very odd

There SHOULD be no way for it to read on one screen one thing and then 10 min later read something else. If it is, and not you just importing wrong file, then either(if you are lucky) it is a problem in me1 and you can modify the ME2 save files to get the correct import, or if you aren't lucky it is a problem in ME2 install/program. If it is number two, then you may have further issues if you try to continue playing, if it is number one, you can continue and be fine.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with downloading and installing the free DLC I had no idea about from my first time playing through ME2.
I installed the DLC *after* I started my import save in ME2. Still haven't started a new game though, Battlefield 3 beta is out for those who pre-ordered Medal of Honor
I'll keep this thread updated.

2nd time around worked fine. It probably was the addition of the DLC that screwed up my save.
