sadly this is true. I tried getting a classmate interested in Mass Effect but he said he would not buy it since there is no multiplayer. 

If by the off chance multiplayer is present I would no mind a co-op mode, a horde mode, or territory capture. This all because for the very little multiplayer that I do play I play with my real life friends and we enjoy playing through story and swapping styles every now again.

Another if, but if multiplayer make sure there is a LAN setup.

Here is another option for big reveal a list of bug fixes. I would be happy with that as there were a few in Mass Effect 2. and I did not mod it.

My vote is for something completely different:

The announcement of an "Ultimate" edition for $149.xx that includes the ME3 N7 Collector's edition and all it's bonuses plus the new replica of ________ .

Its NOT multiplayer. They have dismissed these claims about a hundred times.

READ THIS!!!! Its either one of three options:
1- Voice actor of James Vega
2- Confirmed squadmates
3- Gameplay video of the Vanguard

Everyone is obsessed with the Vanguard, so I guarantee its option 3. Now shut up about multiplayer. You simply can't have it. Even if they had the other person play as a squadmate, it would be dumb. Since squadmates have fewer guns and powers, and have their damage nerfed, would make it completely pointless.

I call that it is a reveal on how planet scanning is being done in the game. You heard it here first.

The new announcement is that the campaign has had an extra 1 hours worth of content added to it, a total of 6 AND a half hours worth of single player goodness, multiplayer is in, some killstreaks has been added such as tactical genophage, varren strike, Thanix cannon air strike etc etc. Day one dlc 2 maps confirmed in, costs 1200 Microsoft points and whatever Ps3 also a mission pack that let's you finish the main story off costing 800.

Wait, are we even sure this announcement is, in fact, ME3-related? I know it says ME3 presentation but surely that could go both ways, right? I'm starting to think it's the announcement of an Ultimate Edition/Game of the Year edition for ME2. You know, an edition with all DLC installed and such. Just like they did with DAO around this time last year.

Of course most of us wouldn't care as we've played every DLC. That doesn't degrade it from being a "big announcement" in the marketing team's eyes, however.

I would be happy with that, I am trying to upgrade my computer right now so that I can play all my favorite games. Purchased DAO Ultimate, got ME1 for PC, need ME2 and eventually ME3 for it as well. I already own ME2 on 360 but want to get it for PC so that I am guaranteed that it will run. When Microsoft announces the next big system I want to make sure I can still play all my big titles.

Still play my Jade Empire and KOTOR on PC. Cannot play them on my 360 for some odd reason. T.T

What exactly was this EA Vegas Show anyway? Some kind of a presentation for press/retailers/investors? If so, then release announcement of some sort would fit. Another special edition of ME3 like you suggested, or ME2 Ultimate Edition just in time for Holiday sales, or ME1 for PS3 or perhaps even ME1 + ME2 Ultimate Collection for Holidays. All these (re)releases have been anticipated.

At this point it could easily go the other way and be an announcement so significant that a huge portion of forumites practically explode from the indignation (multiplayer).

No doubt it'll turn out to be the inevitable announcement that Sam Worthington will be playing Commander Shepard in the film.

If you're not familiar with what "big announcement" around here means then all I have to say is, you're in for some disappointment. That said, the amount of new information has nearly stopped completely since the last big convention and even that wasn't much. So yes, it's easy to get excited about any sort of reveal but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
