This would be the worst thing that could happen, do you seriously want that? The last game I know to be released ahead of the schedule was KOTOR 2 because Lucas Arts was dumb and greedy and we all know how that ended (in case someone doesn't know, it ended with a rushed ending and tons of cut content to the other wise amaizing game that would've been perfect if LA wasn't retarded)DarkSeraphym wrote...
I doubt this is probably the case, but I'm hoping that the announcement is that the game is going to release ahead of schedule. Like I said, wishful thinking but having the game release in January or February would be more convenient for me.

To be fair, I have never seen the original release date for KOTOR but I have a gut feeling it came out nearly 6-10 months ahead of schedule given how much content was removed from it. Several twitters I have read from the developers, especially those who are working on balancing the game, have said that they are already running complete playthroughs of the game to see what changes need to be made to the classes. I won't lie, I'm not a game developer, but that suggests to me that much of the content that is going to be be in the game is already there so I doubt an earlier release schedule would be as catastrophic for Mass Effect 3 as it was KOTOR 2.

Yeah. I really hope they don't show it. That needs me caring something, but perhaps not the direction you were thinking....

Now that you mention it, that doesn't sound all that unlikely.Fiery Phoenix wrote...
Indeed. I'm calling it: ME2 GOTY. Not that I'd buy it.

They've been doing "complete playthroughs" since last year. That doesn't mean anything, since by "complete" they never mean "with all levels designed and finished". They just mean a playthrough from start to finish with what they got in the moment.
They are still designing levels, cutscenes, dialogues, movements, powers, characters, etc.,etc.
It's still a hell of work to do.

Then I stand corrected on that matter.
Still, as I said before, I'm hopeful that the game comes out at least a month earlier. It is coming out at an inconvenient time for myself, or at least an inconvenient time for my workload, and I'm going to be one of those players who is going to be unable to put it down.

If you're not familiar with what "big announcement" around here means then all I have to say is, you're in for some disappointment. That said, the amount of new information has nearly stopped completely since the last big convention and even that wasn't much. So yes, it's easy to get excited about any sort of reveal but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
The only reason I think this may have some merit is because I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that they had recently had the press over for tea and cakes (and more importantly, Mass Effect 3). Which could easily mean that the next round of previews are going to hit sometime soon, and that they are embargoed until BioWare can do one of their exclusive announcements.
Of course there is still a high chance it'll be nothing regardless of that.

With the announcement of a SWTOR release date of December 20, I think this is highly unlikely. While the audiences aren't 100% the same (especially with the increasing appeals to shooter fans), there is a large amount of overlap in the two fanbases - longtime Bioware fans, space rpg fans, etc.
I have no doubt that EA wants to give SWTOR as large a window as possible to succeed, and definitely beyond the infamous MMO 30-day drop off in subscribers. No way will EA give SWTOR players an excuse to not subscribe after the first 30 days and instead go play ME3. And with ME3 already having an established release date that fans have (albeit with grumbling) accepted, it's just not going to happen.

Trust me, every time that Bioware calls something "big announcement" , usually ends up being a "Meh" thing...hangmans tree wrote...
you call this a major announcement? Why, I never...Kabanya101 wrote...
Its NOT multiplayer. They have dismissed these claims about a hundred times.
READ THIS!!!! Its either one of three options:
1- Voice actor of James Vega
2- Confirmed squadmates
3- Gameplay video of the Vanguard
Everyone is obsessed with the Vanguard, so I guarantee its option 3. Now shut up about multiplayer. You simply can't have it. Even if they had the other person play as a squadmate, it would be dumb. Since squadmates have fewer guns and powers, and have their damage nerfed, would make it completely pointless.

I think I need to step in here as the expectations seem to be quite high. There is no "big announcement coming this week". This was specualtion from a guy who works at EA who was at the event in question. There is lots of cool Mass Effect 3 information still to come between now and March 6, but there is no planned "big announcement" or whatever planned for the immediate future.
