I didn't feel needled so it's all good. Regarding hate... I'm more apathetic towards him. I wouldn't go out of my way to kill him, the game forces me to make a choice. I would be content with just leaving him in the ship so he could work out his biotic implant issues with the doctor.

Understandable. I think it may just go against the psyche of many male players to leave the woman to die and save another guy. White knight and all that.

Although, if you want to think of it from a pure command decision point-of-view, Kaidan is the superior officer, a rare. powerful L2 human biotic and probably far more valuable to the Alliance than Ash.

Yeah but his headaches make me nervous. What if the guy hemorrhages on the battlefield? I think the guy should be in the hospital, along with Jack. Seriously, not making fun of him - it's not his fault he got stuck with wiggy bio implants.

I'm glad you liked the newer formula, I just think the old formula had its own type of charm...and the first Splinter Cell game came out in '02 and predates the Assassin's Creed games, so I'm not sure how a SC game could been seen as a clone of AC. *shrug*

Problem is playing the first four games "properly" (i.e. If you want to do a "no kills/no k.o/no detection") required people to be Rain Men in terms of memorizing each mission. Pardon me, but I don't have the time to waste hours just to memorize every minute detail of each room of the game. About the Assassin's Creed clone comment, I was referring to the earlier versions of Conviction.

You mean you didn'tt want to play each mission 20 times to get it perfect? Gasp! :D I just had fun with it, took the score as it came and moved on. I did replay some to see if I could get a better result, but if I didn't, no big.

I do understand your POV though, and I respect it, but I don't share it. I fell in love with the earlier games, and trying to play the newer ones were about as much fun for me as sticking my tongue in a light socket.

And yes I am guilty of the white knight thingy as well. I admit it.

Well, if you talk to Dr. Chakwas about Kaidan, she says he's lucky and only gets migraines. I get migraines too, and still manage to function, so I think Kaidan just finds a way to deal. He's a stable L2 and trusted to command others, but there's apparently some price to be paid for his level of power.

I play as soldiers and sentinels, and I find him very useful in combat to both classes. I haven't had a bad Kaidan build yet.

Understandable and also admirable. Most of my characters are the same. (And it's freaking hilarious when F!Shepard hoists Kaidan over her shoulder and carries him away from the bomb!)

In the end it comes down to this "If you want this perfect 100%, there's only one method of doing it" so all of that ends up feeling like a waste of my time. I'm always a completionist or always try to go for the high score whenever possible, but if it forces me to put up with questionable gameplay level design, I don't see the point.  So much for giving me "options" that almost never exist. 1 and Pandora Tomorrow were pretty bad in that regard while Chaos Theory only was half-committed with open-level designs. The only closest thing I can get to seeing the "100%" is by watching RavenVanHelsing's YouTube vids.

No hard feelings. We'll be on the opposite sides of the fence, and that's how it is..

Heh yeah that would be funny, it's good they don't change it any so the femshep can still be the hero, or, er, heroine. :)

It worked with over the shoulder, but if they had tried it w/ M!Shep rescuing Ash with the bridal carry... Yeah, sharing animations with F!Shep bridal carrying Kaidan would have been a truly epic facepalm. It made me laugh anyway, because F!Shep isn't exactly built like an amazon, but it's still in the realm of believeability. Heros/heroines for us all!

Still nothing? I was under the impression we would hear about it in the week, and I highly doubt we're going to hear anything during the weekend.

Embargo? What kind of info would need an embargo?? >_____>

Often when game press goes to talk to devs, they aren't allowed to talk for a few days. Just a fact of life.
