They've never denied it. I personally am starting to doubt that they'll do something like that (thank God) but they've never denied it, they just deflect the question when it's asked.

First of all, that "taking away resources from single-player" thing is the stupidest crap I've ever witnessed. I would've thought most people knew that campaign development and multiplayer development are COMPLETELY different, and have completely different teams working on it. The campaign would be as good as it is, with or without multiplayer. Same goes for any other game.
Now that that's been said, multiplayer itself is a CHOICE. You don't have to play it if you don't want to people! Don't ruin the chances of it coming to life for others that would enjoy it!

Granted, not everyone who multis is a douchebag. In fact, most aren't.
But the last thing I need is to enter the arena or whatever and hear nothing but "make me a sandwich/ur fat/suck my dick, b*tch."
I hope there's a friend filter or something.

Take out Assignments/N7 Missions from both games and ME2 is almost 4x longer then the first game give or take.JeffZero wrote...
I tend to find ME2 longer than ME1, personally. It seems like I'm the odd one out though. Most forumites claim they're about even.

Sadly, people don't actually believe that at all. Single-player would would not be detracted from at all since seperate teams work on the parts, but people don't actually know game development.
As if having one massive team working on it and detracting from single player made sense to begin with. It's not like they are cutting things left and right in order to shoe horn the MP, and leaving plot holes. Wish people would be a bit more logical about it all...

wait, why do we think this will be multiplayer?
It gives us something to argue about.
Really, it's probably going to be a FemShep trailer since that's all people want.

Please can you change the title? Because I think it's misleading a little. I mean, YOU are assuming that it's about MP, others are thinking probably in something else.
I suggest you to change it for "Possible new announcement in this week." or somthing like that

They've never denied it. I personally am starting to doubt that they'll do something like that (thank God) but they've never denied it, they just deflect the question when it's asked.
Exactly!
Let's do the math...
1. They hired a Multiplayer dev when they were developing Star Wars, Dragon Age 2, and ME3. The position wasn't in the studio doing Star Wars, and DA2 didn't have multiplayer. So there's only 1 place to go.
2. Two weeks ago they hired a QA Lead for Multiplayer testing. Since Star Wars is too close to release to need it, there's only one game in development that's far enough along to need a QA Lead.
ME3 has Multiplayer. I'm really not sure how many more huge red flags people need. Especially since Bioware refuses time and again to say definitively "No", instead making extremely deflective comments meant to be read the wrong way.
I honestly don't understand why people would despise multiplayer being in Mass Effect.

Two points.
1. Where do you think that money comes from? They don't give the Dev team more money just to implement Multiplayer, they give them the same amount of money and tell them to do both. So the Single-player experience ends up suffering horribly.
2. The number of people who will play ME3 for multiplayer is ridiculously small. It's a single-player experience. It has no hooks for multiplayer, nothing we haven't seen 8,000 times before over the past 20 years. I really highly doubt Deathmatches between Shepherds or fighting Waves is really going to be seen as anything other than lackluster. Mainly because you could go buy CoD, or GoW, and get a game designed around the shooter concept, rather than take a game designed around a narrative concept and try to force it in.
Multiplayer is in ME3 for one reason, and one reason only.
It's EA's Used-Game DRM. They use it to force people who buy used to pay them anyways, making the used copy pointless.
