If Anders had not been responsible would this have changed your view?

Burning/bombing churches is a good thing to do.

I don't like the Chantry and i don't trust the mages. So i was kind of undecided up until the end. We were repeatedly told that children stayed in the Chantry and people go to pray there, when Anders blew it up i went pro-templar. If a Templar had blown up the circle then i would be pro-mage. My perspective lies on who kills innocents first.

I totally thought that Dave was talking to himself, but then I remembered that I have IanPolaris blocked so I don't have to read his troll posts :D

...You managed to block posts?

How?

I think you have to go to either account settings or privacy settings and it says "To block a user blah blah blah type in their name here"

Ah, but would your perspective change if you knew/had paid attention that in Act 3, before Anders blows up the Chantry, that Meredith had already requested the right of annullement and that it was on its way to Kirkwall?

Who does Meredith have to get approval for a RoA from? The Chantry.

Yes, if Meredith had orderd the Right of Annulment unprovoked then i would go pro-mage. The nlood magic problem needed to be brought under control, not simply stabbed until it goes away.

To be fair to Hawke, at least as a warrior or rogue, stabbing problems until they went away generally worked.

The Chantry bombing was never justifiable in my mind. Even if the whole system was corrupt the bombing wasn’t the answer. There is nothing in the story that has yet proven the Chantry to be currupt. If they choose to show this in DA3, I would not change my mind.

The story gets real sloppy here in Act3. The bombing was mindless. There were so many other ways to get your freedom. History is loaded with details explaining the abolishment of The Feudal Systems. They could have used something similar but not exact to Bastille Day. This organization just acted like a terror cell.
I executed the person who bombs the chantry and I would have executed anyone else who did it.

This. So much this.

The bombing was stupid. It was strategically stupid. It was a hate crime, poorly conceived and badly executed. I would and will fight for mage freedom, but not like this.

I think it was evil but not stupid, Anders achieved what he set out to do after all and in less time than other options.

Yeah, it was vile, I killed Anders in most playthroughs, then I rivaled him and made him question his path, and I can't bear to kill him anymore... Guy is not in control, and friending him just enables Justice to pretty much take over his mind.

If someone else had bombed the chantry then the personal impact of that horrific act might be lost. I got the feeling that Bioware hoped to make up for the serious lack of true RPG elements in the game by having this catastrophic ending be 'emotionally' devastating. *shrug*
Honestly, I kill Anders everytime, either right off the bat or when I side with the Templars - he never survives long enough to help me fight with the mages when I choose that path. And honestly, it doesn't really matter who one sides with, in the end. I generally side with mages, but using blood magic to control/terrorize/torture people isn't something I condone. I never feel bad about killing what's her name - the one who begs for money in act 2 then goes possessed in act 3 - but I tell her 'children' not to remember her as an abomination, but as the kind woman who saved them from the Blight.
Personally, I think the Circle should exist for those mages who choose to join it, who feel more comfortable living in a protected, structured environment. I think the Templars as a policing force is a fine idea. I also believe that being part of the Circle should be a choice. If a mage chooses not to join, then they can live free. And those who can't handle their power or get power-hungry would then be hunted down and dealt with. But I doubt that will ever be an option in the DA universe.
