If Anders had not been responsible would this have changed your view?

Coward? It seems to not fit Anders, given how willing he was to die for this.

Considering he wanted to die to not live in the world of his making and to give "justice" to the people he killed, that's pretty cowardly.

I can understand him wanting to give the innocents "justice" by his death, but yeah.  There's a difference between 'willing to die' and 'not caring if you die'.

Well, I killed Anders without a moments hesitation. I'd kill anyone else who set off the bomb as well.

Acts like that can never be justified to me.

Considering that he was trying to deconstruct a millennia old system that he (and others, like a pro-mage Hawke) saw as slavery, he was willing to die to see his people ultimately free of this system. Anders acted to put an end to a reign that he saw as wrong, and that cost the humanity and life of his first love, Karl.

Oh noes! Oh dear! Oh the humanity! Someone lost a person he loves! We must tear appart the very fabric of the world, for this outrage!!

Funnily enough, I agree with the good Emperor on this. Starting a revolution on romantic assumptions (whether small r or big R) is stupid. Anders in the end approached mage freedom with a plan to destroy, not a plan to rebuild. That's why I'm hoping the mages eventually end up with a more calculating, more strategic, and more intelligent leader. Being a revolutionary doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a glurging, romantic idiot.

Killing yourself doesn't make you brave. Living and working hard to make changes the hard way makes you a hero. Think Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther, and Gandhi. They are the real deal.

See thats the difference between you and me. I don't equate a game to real life events.

I don't care if he blew up the chantry. Its a game. Its NOT real life.

My mages will NEVER kill him. My rogues would.

Everybody should have the right to play how they wish without being judged for it.

Sorry you are so upset. Being upset is going to change things. Everyone has strong opinions when it comes to terror attacks. Yes, it is a game. However, player can’t change their view because you want it. You are not being judged. A make believe character named Anders is being judged. He is not real.Image IPB

Like them, he lived as long as he had to. And he didn't truly want to die, he just thought he would. He was quite happy to live.

Perhaps. But we don't yet know if Anders can be said to bring about a net saving of life. We'll have to hope that the mages win.

it all depends on the set up for each Hawke and how I roleplay them through the game.

***
want to know more?
My first mage understood the need for the Circle and tried her best to solve things diplomatically, she felt utterly betrayed by Anders and knew it would make things worse for the other mages, so she killed him.

2nd mage wanted freedom for all mages, she practiced blood magic. Did romance Anders (she thought soul mates after the first kiss) and felt any means to an end for the mage plight. She let him live and they ran off together.

Isn't making different choices part of the magic and what makes the game fun to replay so many times?

Its ignorant assumed that all mages want that.

Above is your comment to Porenferser. It looks as if you really get upset if someone speaks their mind.

Now look at your comment to Porenferser. It looks as if you made a judgement on Porenferser. This doesn't fit it is just a game comment you made.

You make comments about others, but you don't like it coming back. If you want the freedom to make comments allow the same for others without the personal attacks. Again, everyone here is making comments about Anders not you.

Agreed. My Hawke is nearly as dedicated to "the cause" as Anders is (though bomb is NOT how she would have done it). There is no way she would have killed him. Other people roleplay differently, and have different reactions. This is how it should be. Besides, Anders himself can be a completely different character between playthroughs, depending on how you play it.

I handed over Isabela to the Qunari for her selfish stupidity, just like I killed Anders for his partial fault.
Don't forget, it was HIS anger that turned the good-willing spirit we all know from Awakening into this monster.

But it was also his generosity to a friend that made him offer his body to Justice. He didn't know that his anger toward the Chantry would change him into Vengeance.  Also, I didn't get the opportunity to hand Isabella over to the Qunari, she just disappeared with the relic and I never saw her again.

Isabela: You've got to have enough friendship/rivalry, or a romance, then she'll show up and you can hand her over.

Anders: Replace generosity with stupidity. He himself wondered if Justice may become a demon and he suspected him to have bad needs, that sleep deep inside him.
To fuse with him after that, I can call this nothing but irresponsible.
So he deserves to die for me.

I didn't see any place in the game where it says Anders wondered if Justice might become a demon before he allowed him to possess his body. I only heard him say that after Justice had possessed him, his anger towards the way  Mages were treated changed Justice into a creature of Vengeance. I don't see where the "irresponsibility" you talk about comes into play  at all.

I had almost 100% friendship with Isabella, but no romance, and she still betrayed me.

Could you have missed her Questioning Belief. I had no romance and she showed up for me. Per the complete offial guide collector's edition it states"Isabela must secure 50% friendship or rialry and complete her Questioning Belief mid-stage relationship conversation before demand of the Qun. Also make sure you offer to help before Aveline when they show up at Hawke estate. This is to Catch a Thief quest. I hope this helps.Image IPB

Could you be a little more specific than that. I couldn't go through walls of dialogue trying to find your point. I've played Awakening at least 5 times and can't think of a dialogue where Anders wondered if Justice could become a demon if he possessed a living body.

I've never said *If he possessed a human body*.
He asked him in general.
And sorry, I think it is not that much to ask for you to read through the passage I've just linked.
