I'm sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I was wondering this myself. As some people clearly DO have custom avatars, how does one actually go about setting up such a thing?
We'll call it a "workaround."

And here I thought you'd just say:
"Ah, custom avatars.. we have dismissed that claim." :innocent:

more or less, I think that they allow the workaround because it makes it a lot of work to post an avatar, so making spam accounts with shock picture avatars is too much effort for trolls to commit to.Ivandra Ceruden wrote...
I second what Bo and HiddenKING said there. Forum would be full of boob/nude avatars that way. Or gore for that matter. Let's generalize all of it under the 'inappropriate' term.

And in seriousness, I like that you have to work for a custom avatar. It's like a badge of honor on BSN imho.

Or perhaps a badge of laziness if you prefer to use the default.

I guess if they allowed custom avatars, too many people would upload pictures of dicks.
They do allow custom avy's, you have one.
And custom avatars are pretty much standard on most internet forums, minus ones that don't allow them at all (gamefaq's etc)
And really, I have never seen someone put a dick as their avy in my life..

It really is a bit of a joke considering how easy the custom avatars are to do and that some of the moderators use custom ones.
Hey, don't blame the devs...They have a need to feel special now and then too, y'know.

That's what I thought, until I remembered that they have no problems with inline images or images in sigs. So I dunno. Curiously, Origin had the same policy until recently but they now allow uploads.RPGamer13 wrote...
It would appear they don't want people uploading inappropriate stuff and possibly things that could be used against them for copyright reasons.
