Personally, I don't support these admirals. Hackett got me into this whole trial mess, Mikhailovich is an annoying racist, and Anderson is supposed to be a Councillor, not an admiral. Kahoku was cool, but as he is dead, it doesn't matter much.

Why are all the Alliance admirals men, anyways? The quarians seem to be fine with female admirals.

Hannah Shepard would have been a female admiral if she didn't turn down the offer.

If anderson is not on the council he gains the rank of admiral

Yeah, but the point was that I've chosen him for Councillor every time, but apparently now they're canonizing the Udina choice by making Anderson quit or something.

Actually Hackett said that he'd do his best to stall the trial for as long as possible, and his Shadow Broker dossier shows that he kept the brass off Shepard's back during the human colony disappearances. So if it wasn't for Hackett, the collectors would still be around and the reapers would have Alpha relayed themselves across the galaxy. Also, while Mikhailovich may come across as a buffoon and xenophobe, he has humanity's best interests at heart.

Oh and Anderson is an Admiral in my main game (Udina ftw!). =]

And look where that got them.

Not invaded by Reapers?

If only they were competent or worthy enough to be graced by the Reapers.

I think the admiral who liberated Shanxi in the First Contact War was a woman.

Given that the Reapers are attacking the batarians first, I don't think the Reapers are specifically targeting "worthy" races.

Ahh...Admiral Mikhailovich. Bleh I told him **** off when he "requested" an inspection.

I let him inspect the Normandy, but defended my crew.  I can't stand that guy.  F'em.

Yeah, he insults the crew, insults my squad, and insults the ship. <_<

We already had that affair in the century before this one, and came out on top that time as well.

Their being our enemy does not automatically make them unworthy. On the contrary, even...

I support Rear Admiral Mikhailovich. He has real balls, coming to me, the Spectre who answers to no one but the Council, and demanding inspection of the Normandy like the one who has the right. Then he has the balls to chastise me. The man sure knows how to bluff.

I was thoroughly enjoying the conversation, and I took great pleasure in snapping to attention, allowing him an inspection, and playing a humble underling while parrying his questions.

Ah, to pretend that I still have a superior, that someone else has all the responsibility, that the fate of the galaxy does not rest on my shoulders, that there's an admiral who knows better what to do, that I still answer to the Alliance, or to anyone at all, that someone else shares this burden...Good times. I wish that conversation wasn't over so soon.

I also support Admiral Hackett, the most immoral and manipulative man in the entire galaxy. Together with the Council, he represents the concept that the most grave crimes and the most evil deeds are committed by non-interference, and that nothing is sacred enough - anything can be sacrificed if necessary. He knows how to use people like tools when they're useful and how to discard them when they become a liability. He is what my Renegade Shepard aspires to be, but can never be, because the abyss of Hackett's ethics has no firm lines to stop that fall.

Both of them make me proud of humanity.

Absolutely loved it when he manipulates Renegade Shepard to accomplish his goal, it's the one time that Hackett went from "Quest guy voiced by Lance" to "Badass quest guy voiced by Lance".

Yeah, his response at the end of that mission was one of my favourites:

"Sometimes extreme measures must be taken to insure humanity's safety. Or did you think you were the only one willing to break the rules to get the job done?" -- Admiral Hackett

Hackett is pretty much a proto-TIM. There are other instances of him manipulating Shepard to do his dirty work like sending her to handle Major Kyle's cult to keep the military's hands clean in case they have to be killed or not revealing all that he knows when it comes to the Alliance/Cerberus scientists with regards to Akuze.

I also like how he doesn't object to Shepard punching Khalisah, only that it was done on camera.

I'm suprised that Mikhailovich didn't mention Tali when he'd taken the tour

"Krogan?, Asari? TURIANS???, but I don't have an objection for the Quarian inside the drive core"

Either a design oversight or he knew she was responsible for humanity being able to get into the ranks of the Spectres.

It's the same thing with Ashley. She says that Wrex "shouldn't be able to poke around the vital systems" when all he ever does on the Normandy is stand around, yet she says nothing about Tali messing around the engine room. Given that quarians seem to most often be the victims of racism, it's rather surprising that neither her nor the admiral seem to have a problem with Tali's presence.

I lol at the guys that seem to think Shep's the only competent human in the galaxy. The Alliance Navy is packed with badasses who've earned their spurs at hellholes like Shanxi, Elysium and other various battle up and down the Traverse. Shepard is going to need competent tacticians on his side for the major space battles, I'm really hoping we see more of guys like Mikhailovich.
