Since we were kind of cut short at the end of Act III I assume most of us have various "head-canon" epilogues for our menagerie of companions and story arcs. Just rying to measure up my "epilogue" to other peoples. Fun way to kill time. And might give the writers some insight into where we fans want the story to go, not that it'll matter that much.
  • Garrett Hawke (I know very original): Following the events of 9:37 Dragon the infamous apostate Champion fled Kirwall with his brother and pirate lover. They crossed the sea to Amaranthine where seperated paths once again with Carver. From there he and Isabela went on many adventures on their ship the Siren's Call II. There are stories of the Champion circulating all along the Waking Sea. His story isn't however (because BioWare hasn't fininshed it).
  • Carver Hawke: He fled with his brother and the raider Isabela following the beginnings of the Mage-Templar War. After they docked in Amaranthine he left his brother to return to the order. After giving his report to Warden-Commander Howe on what exactly happened in Kirkwall he was again stationed in his homeland. There he eventually rose to the rank of Senior Warden under Howe's mentorship.
  • Aveline Valen: After aiding Garrett in halting Meredith Stannard's Annulment of the Circle of Magi she remained in Kirwall as Guard Captain with her husband Donnic Hendyr at he side. Under her watchful eye stability was eventually returned to the city despite the ongoing skirmishes beyond it's walls. Though as lawful as ever she entertains a warm rivalry with Varric Tethras head of Merchant's Guild among other disreputable entities. Crime in the city was greatly diminished due to their unlikely alliance and her evergrowing role and reputation following the mage rebellion.
  • Varric Tethras: After the dust cleared in Kirkwall Varric saw endless opportunites. Adamant as ever he took adavntage of the power vaccum left behind by his good friend Garrett. Their under the alias of "Elmond Tethras" he seized control of the Dwarven Merchant's Guild, the Coterie, and the Carta and founded the largest "entrepreneurial" empire the likes of which Free Marches has never seen. His business savvy and ability to make friends in the right places brought great prosperity to a city in dire need. Though he would never dare bribe or solicit favors from Guard Captain Aveline his promise of running his "businesses" honorably has brought great reprieve to the population as crime remained at an all time low.
  • Anders: The rebel Warden and notorious apostate was spared for his part in aiding the Champion's brother. Turned away from the order in Annsburg and again in Amaranthine for his part in the murder of a Grand Cleric he was forced to live as a fugitive. In constant battle for control over the demon of Vengeance he has vowed to remain in seclusion from the rest of the world in fear of what his condition might do to tarnish the credibility of the Mage Revolution. Always one step ahead of the Flint Company mercenaries hunting him he rarely has the luxury of a moment's peace. He is considered a legend among mages and sympathizers alike and a terrorist and criminal of the highest order to Chantry loyalists.
  • Merrill: Much to her dismay Merrill was forever banished from the Dalish. Her former clan moved on and word spread to the other clans of Marethari's sacrifice. She learned the hard way that wisdom aquired through pride comes at a price. She turned away from the practice of Blood Magic and her communion with the spirits of the Fade on Garrett's advisment. Her magic was outweiged by her Elvhen heritage as she remained undeteced by Chantry and the Templar Order for many years to come. Merrill's knowledge of Elvhen customs and tradition eeventually arned her an honored  place as harhen of the alienage elves in Kirkwall. It''s seems that her time spent as the Keeper's First did not go to waste.
Fenris, Isabela, and Sebastian coming soon. TL, Did not write yet lol.

Edit: Good stuff guys. Keep them coming.

Seren Hawke (Seren means Star in Welsh).  After defeating Meredith, the former chantry sister left Kirkwall branded an apostate with her spiritual husband Sebastian and devoted friend Fenris.   She spent much of the subsequent months searching for the former Circle mages to ensure their safety both from Templars and temptation.   However, so far as her other former companions are concerned, she is uncontactable for their safety as well as hers.   They generally assume she must be alone because they find it incredible that either of her male companions could possibly still be with her.   She signed over the estate in Kirkwall to her cousin Charade, who has promised to forward funds to aid Seren's cause when needed.  Taking her inspiration from Dalish elves, Serens never stays too long in one place as her increasing number of followers is sure to attract Templar interest.  She was last seen heading in the direction of Orlais.

Sebastian is still coming to terms with the loss of Elthina and his exile from the Chantry.  Since Seren has made it clear that she intends to reform the Chantry rather than engage in outright war and is a genuine believer in the Chant of Light, Sebastian has reconciled himself to his current role of confidante and protector to an alleged apostate.   He is at least relieved that it has resolved the question of whether or not he should return to rule Starkhaven.  The Maker has spoken!

Fenris appreciates the irony that he is now the devoted friend and protector of an apostate mage but seems content enough with his situation and enjoys the debates they frequently indulge in round the campfire.  He has promised her that he will act as a watchguard for any signs of her succumbing to temptation to misuse her power.  Both know that he will keep his word in this respect!    Now that he is coming into contact with rather more examples of decent mages than he has previously known, he is beginning to show signs of moderating his views, albeit grudgingly.

Merrill As suggested by Seren, Merrill is now taking an active interest in the affairs of the alienage elves in Kirkwall.  She enjoys teaching the children about elven history and runs a school for that purpose.  Varric keeps an eye on her to ensure she keeps out of harms way.

Averline has left Kirkwall with her husband Donnic and returned to Ferelden where she is once again in the service of the joint monarchs, King Alistair and Queen Anora.  Stationed initially in the capital city, she was subsequently sent to Redcliffe to help train and lead troops to ensure the army there is well prepared for any sign of aggression from Orlais.

Isabella never returned with the book, Carver died in the deep roads and Anders was executed by Seren.

Merrill remained at the side of my blood mage apostate Hawke, as the two departed the unknown, becoming legends among the elves and the mages.

Carver returned to the Grey Wardens after fighting at his brother's side against the Order of Templars.

Aveline returned to Ferelden with her husband Donnic.

Fenris and Isabela departed Kirkwall on her new ship.

Sebastian returned to Starkhaven and vowed vengeance against Anders.

I'd imagine that's how it would unfold for my apostate's companions. I think Varric found a way to remain in Kirkwall despite helping Hawke go against the templars, since Cassandra interrogates him at the Hawke mansion.

While the Mage Revolution is going on, I'd like to think that Anders is investigating the nature of his symbiosis with Justice in the Kingdom of Rivain with the seers.

Hawke. Since Anders remains at her side she has dettached herself from the main body of the mage cause to let her name and legacy do the main work for her. However, there are rumours that are small group of ruthless apostates, led by an Marian have mysteriously been killing templars and chantry people and then disappearing again. Some say that the group has headed for Starkhaven, some for Orlais, but they might just be more rumours spread by Varric Thedras.

Carver Hawke: Originally he planned to return to the Order as soon as his sister was relatively safe. However, the words of his involvment with the Champion caused the first warden to personally say that Carver had risked the wardens neutrality and he was asked to lay low for a while. Carver chose to lay low by following his sister for a bit longer. He claima that it ia to keep an eye for her and keep her from danger, but Marian claims that if it is to that it was to keep an eye on Merrill.

Merrill with her whole clan killed in Sundermout Merrill could not return to the dalish. So she chose to follow Hawke whom she saw as an her new family. Hawke always encoured Merrill studies so she is still researching the Elvians along with other ancient elven rituals. This time she is doing it for herself.

Anders remained by Marian's side. As Hawke never questioned his merging with Justice the two of the become less and less different. As their struggles continues Anders became more and more aware of two things: That his struggles would never end and that he loves Hawke. Some people in Marian and his little group says that the couple are what the mages needs to be free, but other whispers that peace will never come as long as the two of them is alive. Such whispers is never spoken aloud, though, because any hint of a compromise is seen as an injustice against the mages who has died.

Isabella and Fenris both surprised themself by standing with the Champion against Meridith. Fenris to this day delcares that he did it because even though he thinks that mages in general should be locked up, he knew one who deserved to be free. Isabella finally begang to take Hawke's advise and begun to save money to afford a new ship. She and Fenris stayed friends with benefit, despite the snickering from their future crew that the two of them was to developing more and more monegamous tendencies. Slavers ships would learn to fear the Siren's Call II.

Varric Thedras went underground in Kirkwall. However, the merchant guild are still run by various non-exitant persons and wild and glamerous stories about the champions seems to grow with each passing day.

Aveline and Hawke had been like sister, but something doing the qunari attack had caused Hawke to lose all faith in her former friend and the law, causing a rift between the two women. When Hawke sided with the mages Aveline could no longer overlook her friends revolt against authorites and sided against her. She threw her sword to the ground and declared Hawke dead to her, but when her and Donnic had their first child - a girl she chose to call the infant Leandra, some people says that it is the way that Kirkwall's guard captain is honering her lost friend. Other guards however says it is the name of regret because of the one thing that caused Hawke to give up on her firend.

Sebastian Vael returned to Starkhaven fuelled by holy fire and what he percieved a betrayl from Hawke's side. However, by the time he had finally retaken his city Hawke had long disappered. He kept searching for the apostate couple, but had no luck. He has, however, no doubt that Hawke never will never forgive him for threathing the man she loves and by supproting the Chantry he hopes to draw Hawke close to him for a final confrotation. Sebastian might have left the chantry, but he is still praying that when the time comes for him to face the malificar Hawke and the abmomination Anders the Maker will take his side. He is sure that the day will come one day.

.....
I don't do happy endings, do I? Even in my headcanon.Posted Image

Hawke disappears. Game cuts to cinematic with Hawke waking up chained to a wall. Another figure, face masked by shadows, is being dragged off by two muscular individuals. Enter Empress Celene who offhandedly mentions that the shadowed figure was the Hero of Ferelden who is of no further use to her. Cue screams coming from room that the HoF was dragged into. Celene further explains that Hawke has just what she needs to expand on her goals, the blood of a true champion. Cue Hawke reaction line based on personality. Fade to black.

Anders is dead, though his "sacrifice" is well-known among the mages. Society and the Templar view him as a monster, the mages view him as a martyr and some more extremist mages have begun to willingly become abominations in the hope that they'll become like their "savior" reducing public opinion of mages even more.

Merrill quits blood magic and roams the world trying to "atone" for the death of her keeper, she finally "matures" into somebody who'd make a good Keeper but ironically isn't welcome by any clan.

Sebastian returns to Starkhaven and rules it with an iron fist, having learned that the ends justify the means by Hawke. Starkhaven, with Kirkwall having become a negative symbol among the people of Thedas, grows and becomes one of the strongest forces in the Free Marches.

Aveline goes back to Ferelden and rejoins the military, getting a lot of commendations for her skill at leading regiments.

Fenris follows Hawke as he knows no other kind of companionship, defending Hawke from any trouble and being used as Hawke's personal interrogator. In his spare time, Fenris leads the Templar on Witch Hunts throughout Kirkwall and has shown great interest in keeping the blood mages for himself (which takes over his regular job after Hawke leaves).

Varric remained at the Hanged Man, a constant companion to Hawke and uses his connections throughout the city to give Hawke all intel he'd need. In exchange, Viscount Hawke gave him the rights to The Hanged Man.

Bethany stayed with the Grey Wardens and kept doing Grey Warden things, she'd be given special lodgings in Kirkwall whenever she'd visit with her Grey Warden fellows and needed rest.

Viscount David Hawke, respected greatly by the Templar, assisted greatly in removing all traces of non-regulated magic in Kirkwall through his contacts and friends he's made on his rise to power. After two years of being in office, and changing the fortune and many, he mysteriously disappears one night with Isabela.

Isabela complains every day she's walking with Hawke that Hawke didn't let her keep the boat or didn't buy her a new one since he became Viscount, though she's found a sense of enjoyment from helping others on her "quest" to eventually afford a new boat and crew.

The mysterious corpses that litter the ground of Hightown's mansion which Fenris used to stay during the time he served with the Viscount have decided to clean themselves up because nobody else was going to do it.

"Anybody want to come onstage? We need a partner."
"Yeah, come on up!"
*crowd silence*
*summons rage demon*
"*gutteral growl* DO IT!"
*the entire crowd jumps on the stage*
"Alright, fabulous! Now we just need a willing sacrifice so we dance naked in their blood!"

Hawke: After defending the mages, he swiftly fled Kirkwall knowing his welcome there would become very short by the templar sympathizers or those who loved Elthina. He and his love Merrill took the Eluvian and journeyed far south to the Brecilian Forest and the Kokari Wilds, working constantly and studying the elven ruins there. He maintains a low profile because he knows if any templar gets word of his whereabouts, it would end in a slaughter...either his or theirs.

He makes periodic trips to the Circle in Ferelden to connect to his second cousin.

Carver: Serving the templars has given him an insight into the mages plight he never once cared for. He sees how brutal the views of his peers can be and gradually begins taking a stronger stance in what the duties of a templar should be compared to what they want it to be. He advocates treating mages with respect and some form of freedom, but still requires them to gain training in the Circle. Eventually transfers to Ferelden because of his radical views and rises through the ranks swiftly there.

He still holds a grudge against Hawke, but only for old time's sake. He doesn't know how to live otherwise. Which has become fine for him.

Merrill: After the death of her clan, She had taken to teaching alienage children about Dalish history and how it's important to remember the past...even the dangerous and unpleasant things. Working with Shianni whenever she and Hawke went to Denerim, she very slowly starts building a new Dalish Clan as the new Keeper, but with a much healthier respect for humans than other Dalish are willing to tolerate. She naturally has great difficulties helping the City-Elves overcome their Andraste worship or their sense of inferiority to humans. She also has great difficulty getting other clans to accept her ragtag group as a Clan. But the fate of City Elves do improve in Ferelden...well for those who decide to live with Merrill and Hawke.

She continues studying the Eluvian and other ancient Dalish artifacts, doing more than most to restore that which was lost. Even learning from the Hero of Ferelden's companions the art of Arcane Warrior. And passing that skill on to other clans.

Aveline: She and her husband leave Kirkwall after appointing a new captain, knowing by helping Hawke defend the mages she essentially committed treason against the acting Viscount. She and Donnic enlisted in King Alistair's army, and she butted heads enough to rise through the ranks swiftly. She trains her men hard drills them in combat simulations (one captain verse another captain on a field of battle) to prepare the army for the war with Orlais and/or the templars and mages, which will inevitably come.

Fenris: Incredibly shaken by the events leading Danarius's death and the discovery that he wanted his lyrium markings, he begins to reevaluate many of his deeply ingrained beliefs. He still is incredibly cautious with any mage, but his time with Hawke has led him to believe...however grudgingly, that not every mage wants the rise of another Tevinter or any particular power over others. He has become more willing to take things at face-value, but will still skewer any mage that proves said trust wrong or even hints at practicing blood magic.

Varic: One who always takes opportunities where he can, he stayed in Kirkwall, having a made up cousin the head of his family, swiftly takes control of the Merchant's guild and less savory business practices and builds a fortune. He eventually manages to steal....um....make a deal to get the deed to the Hanged Man, where he continues to tell outrageous stories about the Champion.

Sebastian: Returns to Starkhaven and is swiftly assassinated by political rivals.

Varric: Varric lied. He knew exactly where Alexandra Hawke was hiding. He keeps in contact with her and sends supplies when need.
Alexandra Hawke: Alexandra and her lover Fenris went to a safe location in Ferelden. She is in a secret meeting with Gabriela Cousland, Queen of Ferelden and the Hero of Ferelden. Both are trying to iron out terms and conditions for mages to be free citizens reporting directly to King Alistair. The discussions are taking a long time because terms include land holding, % income tax, % property tax, % of mages reporting for military service to the King, laws and punishment for crimes any mage commits, and legal representation for mage grievances.
Alexandra believes that if a war occurs between Ferelden and Orlais, the mages could win for Ferelden. If terms can be reached, her lover Fenris will be tasked with befriending and training the city Elves to protect Ferelden from Orlais. Both Fenris and Alexandra will visit the Dales in Ferelden to build friendship and setup trade agreements.
Fenris: He is secretly meeting with the writers of DA3. He doesn’t want to be included in as crazy. All the living DA2 companions are sick of crazy town.
Aveline: Aveline and Donnic live in Ferelden. They still keep in touch with Alexandra. Both work as city guards and Aveline again is up for a promotion.
Isabela: At first she was really mad that Hawke turn her over to the Qunari. Now she is in Bliss. The Qunari leader was so impress with her fighting skill that he married her off to one of his finest Sten. Little did she know that her Sten loved painting, music and cookies. Although the Qunari are not supposed to fall in love, Sten is madly in love with Isabela and her out of this world chocolate chip cookies. She writes she only has eyes for Sten.
Merrill: She now lives in the Denerim elf alienage. She is teaching them about the Dales. She is also training so that she’ll be ready if Orlais attacks Ferelden. She took Hawke’s advice and doesn’t communicate with Demons anymore.
Carver: He left the Grey Wardens to help his sister move some of the mages out of Kirkwall and into Ferelden. He is headed for Lothering to marry a girl he left with a little more than just a smile. Ferelden is going to have another blue eyed Hawke.
Sebastian: He kept his promise to support mages. He does blame all the mages for the action of one crazy mage.
Anders: He is very dead. Alexandra executed him. All the DA2 companions hope he stays that way and doesn’t comeback somehow in DA3.

Marian Hawke: She and her companions were seen in a Tantervale tavern shortly after the events in Kirkwall. An altercation with templars resulted in a rapid exit from the city. A crewmember of Isabela's ship reports them taking the ship to Denerim, before completely replacing the entire crew and sailing off. Reports of a woman resembling the champion cropped up in a variety of cities across Thedas, where their ship reportedly put in at port long enough to offload a small fortune in various fabled treasures before leaving.
Isabela: Accompanied her lover on the various adventures they had.
Varric: Travelled between the various cities of Thedas for three years, spreading the tale of the Champion of Kirkwall, before being apprehended by the Seekers on returning to Kirkwall.
Bethany Hawke: Returned to the Grey Wardens after the group fled the city, if only to inform them she was leaving the order. It is unknown as to if she met up with her sister again, as she promised when she left.
Anders: Became angry with Hawke after she refused to continue to assist in the Mage rebellion. Left to the group to continue to combat the templars. Narrowly avoided escape several times, at least once by abusing his abilities as a Grey Warden to lead an entire contingent of a templar splinter faction into a darkspawn birthing ground.
Fenris: Seemingly perished at the Champion's hands during the mage rebellion. Refused to accept the Champion's mercy, forcing her to deal him a mortal wound. His body could not be found afterward, however.
Sebastien: Left Kirkwall for Starkhaven to raise an army for the sole purpose of hunting down Anders.
Merril: Accompanied the Champion of Kirkwall on her adventures at the insistence of Isabela, who refused to let her wander the land as a pariah.
Aveline: Left the Champion's side to go into hiding, along with her husband, Donnic.

There never really was a champion, Hawke never existed as the main focus for anybody instead playing the scapegoat to keep people from looking at the real person behind the scenes and was actually killed when the boat exploded. Varric's real name is...Kaiser Soze!

I have way too many, hawkes, and I don't have a particular headcannon. But if I had to pick one as a main import,it would be this one.

Maria Hawke: The agressive, sadistic champion of kirkwall, sided with the mages and ran off with anders. She still belives she is making progress,in  showing anders the danger of magic. One day she simply vanishes, along with the cousland warden.

Nope, just the kind of bird that flew overhead as Varric was being dragged into the mansion. :P

Cara Hawke and Fenris: Following the events of 9:37 Dragon, Cara was forced to flee from the city of Kirkwall in which she had lived for the past six years. Her companions, including her lover, the former slave Fenris, her brother, Carver Hawke, Varric Tethras, the Dalish elf called Merrill, Aveline Vallen, the former guard captain of Kirkwall, as well as a strage hooded figure, escaped with her. They were last seen together boarding a ship with the infamous pirate Isabela in the Kirkwall harbor. Sightings of Hawke have been reported now and again, but no one can confirm her appearance with certainty. What is known, however, is that, in recent reports, she has been seen with a small girl, apparently her daughter, who has been rumored to have been called Bethany, and that the elf, Fenris, is still with her, wherever she is.

Anders: The rebel mage Anders, the instigator of the mage-templar conflict, has not been seen since that fateful night in the Gallows. He may have been seen boarding Captain Isabela's ship with the rest of Cara Hawke's companions, but this also may be rumor. It is said that he was made to exit the ship once the party arrived in Rivain, where they stayed for a short amount of time before leaving, reportedly bound for Orlais. There have been sightings of a haggard man whose appearance seems similar to Anders' appearance, usually in the more uninhabited areas of Thedas. But again, these sightings may be purely rumor.

Carver Hawke and Merrill: Carver Hawke, the brash younger brother of Kirkwall's Champion, Cara Hawke, traveled with his sister and her companions for quite some time, before returning to the Warden's base in Ansburg to announce his resignation. He was last reportedly seen in Ferelden, though seemed to be heading towards Orlais. Every report that has been filed of him, however, states that he has a small, female Dalish elf with him.

Varric Tethras: Varric Tethras, the wise cracking dwarf who was constantly at the Champion's side when she resided in Kirkwall, reportedly traveled with the Champion and her companions for quite a long time before setting out on his own in Rivain. He held a thriving merchant business there, before being called back to Kirkwall for unknown reasons. He planned to return the the merchant's guild there, insiders say, but before he could get situated in the city, he disappeared in the middle of the night, the clanking of armor heard in the distance.

Isabela: Captain Isabela, the swashbuckling, lustful pirate, traveled with the Champion and her companions until they, rumoredly, went to Orlais. She has reportedly been behind many a raid-- against templars. Most say that she has changed for the better from her time with the Champion.

Aveline Vallen: Aveline Vallen and her husband, Donnic Hendyrs, left with the Champion on that fateful night, but did not stay with her long. They left soon after they hit Rivain, and settled somewhere in the area for a few years, before leaving again-- with their small son in tow, for Kirkwall, hearing reports of the City Guard having fallen to pieces. Guard-Captian Vallen managed to salvage what was left of the Guards and now resides, in Kirkwall, a heavy entourage accompanying her wherever she goes.

Morrigan and the Warden: Key players in the Fifth Blight, both have disappeared in recent days. Morrigan was last confirmed to have been seen with the Dalish, before she made off with a precious relic of theirs. This relic has been recovered by Ariane and Florian Phineas Horatio Alderbrant, Esquire, who appear to have traveled with the Warden in his quest to find his sorceress lover. Both Morrigan and Aedan Cousland have been "seen" together, in recent days, with two small children, a strangely stotic boy and a rambunctious girl. However, many have made this claim for publicity purposes. King Alistair and Queen Anora have looked into every claim made, but alas, have found all to be either false, or to have been to late to catch up with the Hero of Ferelden and the mysterious witch.

God, that took a while to type. =/

EPILOGUE:

Hawke walks away from the scene of Meredith's death, staring down Cullen.

As Hawke turns away, he begins to feel drowzy... and passes out.

3 days later....

Hawke wakes up. He appears to be alone, a camp fire sparkles next to him in the night.

The Warden, a face of stone, walks out of the shadows and says, "We have a lot to talk about Hawke."

TO BE CONTINUED!
