Hi, i am Niza, i forgot my password, so i create new account to ask this question, sorry.

I want Accomplished Rogue achiement, i have try it with several playthrough, they all going bad and end in frustration. It is because of weapon and combat choices. I have try archery and dual wield, Both are bad. It is bad because i cannot have full benefit from both talent tree because not enough free point to spent, and end up with one specialization only.

Now i have come to one conclusion only, that is using only one weapon in main hand either dagger/sword/age/mace and any light shield in offhand. I don't play this yet, just a thought. Rogue talent are already melee talents, with backstabbing, critical hits dan defense, i plan to use only one weapon to gain the full benefit. Dual weapons decrase damage in which bad without dual weapon talent.

With this, 3 specialization is good to choose either  Duelist/Assasin,  Bard/Assasin and  Bard/Duelist. Ranger is bad. Abandoning all weapon talent will give enough points to spent in specialization.

Since i want to be an Accomplished Rogue, i don't want to pick up Leliana and Zevran, because there will be no reason to pick up them, i can do everything. In fact i am planning to play with 4 basic character in the begining to the end that is the Warden, Dog, Alistair and Morrigan (Human Noble Origin)

Warden - Accomplished Rogue with no weapon talent, any specialization
Dog - The Warden best friend, harassing enemy, secondary tank
Alistair - Templar/Champion, main tank
Morrigan - Damager, healer, Shapechanger and Spirit Healer

What do you guys think? ^_^

I am too late then..lols

I have try and error last night, but i don't play the whole yet. I found out if i want to go on this setup, the most suitable weapon is single dagger in the main hand, light shield or no shield at all in the off hand. The fastest attack than using other weapon, focus on dexterity and cunning.

Make me think the is no point of dual wield if rely on back stab all the time. Single dagger give more back stab damage than dual wield dagger. I think she will become more powerful than any warriors in higher level with all attacks are critical and stealth. Theory only so far.

I just looked up this achievement and...ouch!

Do you have Awakening? You could just use a respec potion, pick up the talents for the achievement, and then reload to a more desireable build.

If you were to stick with a rogue that had all of the rogue talents, then that wouldn't leave you with many points to put into dual wield, archery or the specializations.

Is this your first rogue? With my rogue wardens, I prefer to dual wield two daggers, and focus on backstabbing with momentum activated. Enemies drop like flies, even on nightmare difficulty. From the rogue talents, I usually max out the stealth line, then pick up Coup de Grace and Lethality. With high cunning, you shouldn't need more than 2 or 3 deft hands talents. If you had another rogue in the party, you could skip that line entirely.

I'd recomment at least picking up the first two dual wield talents, if that's all you pick up from that whole tree.  The first one removes the off-hand penalty from using two weapons and the second one gives you a boost to attack and defense when dual wielding.

Yes, this time i want to play Rogue seriously and get the achievement. But it is so hard. I am comfortable playing Warrior all these time, no matter S&S, 2H, DW and even Archer. .

I compare Warrior Archer and Rogue Archer, i can say Warrior Archer is more superior in combat. Rogue Archer miss a lot no matter how much dexterity points i spent...Warrior Archer have less miss with Precise Striking and when reach level 12, Perfect Striking always hit. Also Warrior Archer can disengage.

But that is not the point. To get Rogue fully talents must spent 15 talent points (subtract the free Dirty Fighting). Left me about 5-10 points to spent in weapon talent or specialization, (assuming reaching level 20, get free talent points and buy tomes). I failed every time, no matter playing melee or archer rogue. Rogue is so hard to play.

I don't have Awakening

You mean that you want to "roleplay" your rogue? That makes sense.

There are less warrior specific talents to pick up, while rogues have twice the amount, which leaves less available talents to choose from the non-rogue categories. If you pick up all of the rogue talents and spend less on dual wield or archery, then that forces you to be more of a stealthy rogue, with less attention to combat.

Rogues are fun to play as, with the ability to do high amounts of damage, scout ahead for traps under stealth, and the ability to pick locks is always nice. The class doesn't have to be hard to play as, if you don't feel like you need to maximize the rogue tree.

If you're struggling with accuracy with your rogue archer, then pick up Aim and Master Archery.

If you notice your health dropping, just activate stealth and stop attacking for a second or two, and let the tank fire off a taunt.

I understand getting all of the rogue talents for the achievement. If you go that route, you are more of a stealthy/support character. This isn't required to be a "good" rogue. It's just a different way to play the class. Rogues can be heavy damage dealers, a stealthy lockpicker, or a mixture of both.

Yes, i want to role-play Rogue class, not just whacking enemies. I want to detecting and disarm traps, making and lay traps, making poisons and bombs, lock picking, stealing, diplomatic....everything...i want the feeling that Duncan was right suggesting to Bryce "If i can be so bold, i suggest your daughter is also an excellent candidate...", meaning he was right want to recruit Elissa,

I want a story...a "princess" (archer most likely) travelling with her dog, a knight in which her lover and a bad ass mage...to stop the Blight

Thanks, yes i must be stealth, i think in order to do that must avoid fighting directly...i am used to play Warrior class in which just get in the battle at anytime, i can't do that to role-play Rogue..

That is why i said in the first post i don't want to pick up Leliana and Zevran, because i want to do everything as a Rogue, no need for them. As a Warrior, sure i need Leliana or Zevran to do those things above. Since i can do everything myself, no need for them.

As far, i am not successful, lols

Edit : On second thought, maybe Ranger/Duelist or Ranger/Assasin is the best bet for melee...let the pet fight, i just going stealth and back stabbing...
