Mordin Singing really feels like something his voice actor started doing spontaneously one day and the devs thought it was cool enough that they worked it into his character. Does anyone know the story behind how they decided he should be singing Gilbert & Sullivan?

I'd also love to know if there's a Blooper Reel of the recording sessions for both ME games anywhere. and.. DA for that matter.

yeah on youtube there's a few, they're actually really cool. i'm not sure how the singing came about but when he politely tells your male shep that he thinks you're into him and that he's not interested is one of the funniest things i've ever seen in any game ever lol

It was scripted.  One of the writers, Patrick Weekes, specifically adapted the lyrics.

Staying alive in the end.

For some reason he had to die despite me making everyone loyal and getting the best ship upgrades. I had to bring him with me for the final fight in order to make him live.
