In the book Time and Again, by Jack Finney, one character asks another if he's ever given a book to a friend and been jealous, because he or she would read it for the first time while you never again can.

I just finished my first run of ME2, and that's how I feel. I'll play a new character and enjoy it, but it's hard to live up to this run. From the start of the Suicide Mission, it all felt right: the choices, the combat, the drama. Totally satisfying.

A lot of strong games falter at the end, even the beloved Baldur's Gate Trilogy. Not this one.

What great fun! I'm glad for the excellent gaming... and for the folks on this forum. It's like sharing a good book.

i dunno, i've been mucking round with six different sheps, run 4 full so far, 2 of those completes(2 runs through ME1+2 runs through ME2 for ultimate stats), 1 fresh ME2 on second, one single ME1+single ME2 and a couple of randoms, like an experimental engineer etc. cos everyone said it's impossible and yeah they suck, basically hours and hours and hours and **** i don't know what the sky even looks like anymore but i still get excited building up to a fight, or listening to a team mate having an epiphany, or saving someone or something or getting an email from a past friend. i dunno, i can't help it but i'm hooked on ME lol.

Unlike a book ME 1 and 2 have enough variables in them that the end result won't be the same to on a certain level of story. So, for me at least with 3 Shepards it is possible to experience ME fresh again 3 times.

One of the things that has kept me playing Mass Effect was that I had this weird feeling that I was enjoying the game more and more each time I started.  Typically, I feel the way you describe, like I can never experience it for the first time again. But Mass Effect is different, though it stays the same in many regards the differences are strong enough to keep it fresh every single time.  Other games are replayable, some should be much more replayable, but so far none of the other games I've played have felt quite the same.
