I love the force mage tree, and use it every time I play as a mage. Once you've gotten a few points spent in the specialization, the skills available are pretty useful. I like to use combos - first Pull of the Abyss, then Telekenetic burst, to pull enemies into a pile, then send them all flying. Good times. I rarely ever use Fist of the Maker, though. It doesn't quite have the impact I'd like.

That's very very true. Fist of the Maker's job is a big AoE hit after you've pulled enemies close together. But it lacks that punch that a basic Fireball spell has. I'd much rather use Tempest, Firestorm, or Walking Bomb for the same results.

Used properly Force Mage is exactly the kind of spec that I wanted in Origins. A nice rounded Mage spec that wasn't support, melee, or Blood Magic.

I absolutely love it too, one of the few things that I really loved about DA2. Force Mage in combination with Elemental is just great for larger amounts of enemies

Pull of the Abyss + Cone of Cold. Follow up with Mighty Blow/Bursting Arrow = a lot of dead mooks. Fist of the Maker has a short cooldown and on staggered crowds it's invaluable. Gravitic Ring is a great equalizer when Hawke's aggro is up. Unshakable Passive + a few points in Strength makes Hawke immune to knockback.

Force Mage is the best mage specialization IMO.

The no-knockdown talent is very useful. Pull of the Abyss can be used to concentrate enemies and then you hit them with an area of effect attack. The knockback spell is a nice defensive spell.

Sarcastic Force mages are the only reason that I keep coming back to DA2. Adding it is the one alteration to Origins I would make, for it is that awesome.

1) gravity ring
2) pull of the abysm
3) chain lighting any frost spell ( the become frozen)
4) send fenris= pwned. hehe.
Alone gravity field, use everyhting you have like bombs, use petrifie+ curse cast frost if it gets too close and slow him down while waiting for gravity to re-set, use fist, repeat, the last spell i always use is crushing prision, love to watch the fist apearing tearing apart the unlucky bstard. lol!

I like the force mage a lot more than the blood mage. Fist of the maker may not hit super strong but the cool down is pretty quick, and I like the animation.

Fist of the Maker....Impact...Nicely done whether the pun was intentional or not lol :wizard:

You know, it actually wasn't intentional; but you're right, it was pretty good.

If you use a sarcastic Hawke, you'll notice that in Act 1, he faces a similar situation with the herbalist when he asks Hawke to help remedy his reduced stock.

I don't see people mentioning the fact that force mage spec gives ALL spells a 25% damage/stat boost. Which makes force mage a good spec for nukers as well as controllers. Also yes as people were saying unshakable is epic.

My favorite role as mage is Force Mage/Healer. I love controlling the battlefield!!!!
