Yea right now I'm basically doing these steps:

1. I take the in-game snapshot
2. Open the screenshot and converted to JPEG
3. Upload to my album
4. Try to paste it adding the tags [*img*] before and%20before%20and%20 [*/img*] after the link

I'm pretty sure these steps are right but I can't get it to work. I tried here in my previous reply to no avail.

Hey I just got it to work somehow. I must be missing a step here or something cause I did the exact same steps as before...well at least I thought I did. I also need to make them bigger so you can actually see and read it.

Ok, I think I got it now. How do you make it bigger. That's the only issue I'm having now. I'm trying to resize it but it either comes out blurry or the proportions are off.

Why resize them though. They should come out in their original size with at least 640x480p. Since you obviously have a better resolution than that (could it be 1024x768?), you would have to resize them to get these thumbnails...

I would guess it's a courtesy to others on the forum.

If the images are uploaded at e.g. 1280x1024 everyone reading the post gets to suck down all those bits even if the forum sets a maximum size of 400x400 on the displayed image. That's an awful lot of wasted bandwidth.

Also, if you downsize 1280x1024 (for example) to whatever the forum image max display size is, you do tend to end up with useless images (unreadable text, hard to see any detail whatsoever, etc.).

That's why I just link to original size images instead of having them inline.

I'm running at 1366x768. I'm getting ready to try a no-reload challenge myself and just noticed that everyone's screenshots are nice and big and I want mine to be the same.

You took that question out of context. I didn't mean "Why make them smaller", but "Why do you need to make them bigger?"

You should have a "ScrnShot" folder in your installation folder. Whenever you press the Print button for a screenshot, another one in original size should be created in there, albeit as a bitmap, so some coversion is in order before uploading.

I think when you uploaded it you made the upload site resize the picture by accident man.

Make sure you select the "optimise but dont resize" option before you click upload. And then use the forum thumbnails link that the site provides.

Yeah, I think that's probably what's happening. Never used Photobucket, but Imageshack, at least, has a "resize automatically" option when uploading, which you obviously don't want to have checked.

I suggest you don't resize them at all. The board will shrink them to fit a certain size, anyway, but that way, people will also be able to view the original size by right-clicking on the screens and selecting "View Image." also, once you start posting action-screenshots, you'll be able to link to them in a size people can read (if you don't want to bother with the cropping and editing that many of us do in the no-reload threads).

Yea with each of these I've had to crop them. So far the whole process to get them here on the forums has been a bit of a hassle.

EDIT: Yep, your right anything beyond 800x600 is getting resized once I posted here. Well man, how do you get your character sheet shot to be so big?

The character sheet on your shots looks small because of the resolution you're playing the game at - this means screen shots show a much greater area than the game expects. If you want to show the normal size you will need to crop it in Photobucket (one of the edit functions). You will find that expanding images like this will make text a little blurry, although that won't really be noticeable on the character record.

For what it's worth, I play in 640x480 so that I don't have to bother cropping and the like.

You can think of the resolution setting as being like a zoom.

Best,

A.
