Sorry for the long post.
I did a test on this today and it seems to confirm my suspicion.
It started last Saturday when I decided to reset and change the password on my Starwars The Old Republic account in http://www.swtor.com/. I did this at night. I didn't think of it much then too.
When I tried playing Dragon Age Origins the next day, I suddenly was not able to log in on my bioware account. I went to the Bioware Social website and I was not able to log in there also. I tried different passwords that I normally used and still nothing. I even used the same password I used on The Old Republic Account and still nothing.
I went to EA/Origins website to try and login there and I had the same problem. Then I saw this message in there:
The username or password you entered is incorrect. If you recently
registered at SWTOR.com the password that you created there has become
your new Origin/EA.com password.
I decided to click on "Forgotten Password" and it sent me a password reset on my email. I went to the website indicated on the email and tried to change my password, but the website itself isn't working properly.
Even though my new password I put meets the requirements (at least 1 uppercase letter and 1 numerical character), it would still tell me the same thing, that I need at least 1 uppercase letter and 1 numerical character. Even though I already have them on the new password. It would keep changing the error everytime I click on submit. It's like a cycle.
I called customer support the next day and they were able to reset my password. I was able to log back in my account. So everything was fine again until yesterday.
I preordered Star Wars The Old Republic yesterday and got a code for the early access and the special stone. I went to the Star Wars The Old Republic Website, logged in, and put the pre-order code successfully.
I tried playing Dragon Age Origins after that and I got the same message like last time and couldn't log in on my Bioware account. "Login details / Password invalid". I went to the Bioware Social Network website again to try to log in and got the same thing. Invalid Password. I had suspicions then about The Old Republic website.
So I called customer support again this morning and they reset my password again. I was able to log back in again on my BIoware account.
SInce the new password was different from the password on the one I put on StarwarsThe Old Republic website, I went back to the Starwars The Old Republic website and tried to log to may account. I tried to log in with the old password and it wouldn't work. So I tried the new password from my BIoware Account and then it worked. So it's safe to say that the Bioware Account , Ea Origins Account, and The Star Wars The Old Republic Account are connected.
So I wanted to test something out and decided to change the password on my "The Old Republic" account. I was able to change it successfully.
Now, I went back to the BIoware Social Network Account and tried to log in and this time, I was not able to log in again. It kept saying "Login Failed". I tried the new password I used on The Old Republic Account and it still didn't work. I went to the EA/Origins website and tried logging in there and got the same problem. I was not able to log in. But I was able to log in on the "Star Wars the Old republic" website just fine though.
So, I called customer support again (They were really friendly and helpful) and they were able to successfully reset my password again for the 2nd time today. I was able to log back in on my BIoware Account. And the new password also worked on my Star Wars The Old Republic Account.
So my conclusion is, everytime you update or change your (password) account in www.swtor.com/, it would mess up your Bioware Social and Ea Origins account so that you're not able to log in. SInce the "Forgot your password" link doesn't work, you always have to call Customer Support to fix it for you.
Please look into this. I plan on playing The Old Republic when it comes out and I'd hate to keep calling Customer Support to fix my BIoware / Ea Origins account everytime my Old Republic Account gets updated or changed.
Thank you and I'm very sorry for the long post.
Updating/Changing Star Wars Old Republic website account messes up BIoware Social / EA Origins Account
