I think I was at about 15 hours when I got to Subway Town. You guys that are at 30 hours, what have you been doing? LOL Makes me wonder if I'm missing something.
I left some jumps behind outside of Wellspring, because I had no idea how to actually accomplish them. I'm hoping I can get back there at some point...? It not, I'm not too worried about it.
Sweet, I can't wait to get the Monarch. And thanks for the advice, Cyberarmy!
I've been approaching the game in a similar manner to open world RPGs in the sense that I have ignored the main quest to the extent possible and just kind of did my own thing, exploring, talking to NPCs, visiting areas probably in the wrong order, looking for places to explore, trying to find enough collectible cards to beat the Frenzy card player in Wellspring, (I have not been able to beat him yet on the hardest setting.), knocking down the authority drones with vehicle jumps, trying to kill bandits to earn racing certificates from Sally so I can unlock the next set of racing matches, etc.
The first time I blew up the gate blocking off the Hagar settlement from the rest of the Wasteland, I just walked through the gate and went exploring on foot. Made it all the way to Wellspring and I found Crazy Joe as well. I took out several bandit cars with grenades and my sniper rifle (takes a lot of bullets).
I would add that the game is probably a lot shorter playing on Easy or Normal mode. I've been playing on Hard and I've had to play a number of quests several times to complete them.
In order to complete the first sniper mission I had to dial the difficulty setting down to Normal, however for everything else I've been playing in Hard mode and sometimes even this mode seems a bit too easy.
The first Dead City quest took a while to complete because I found some crafting ingredients to make a lock grinder towards the end of the mission. I exited, then turned around and went back through the entire level backwards to find the locked door. Lots of mutants had respawned and there were mutant bone piles with loot everywhere.
The first Mutant Bash TV mission took several attempts to complete it (and I understand you are invited to go back for a second MBTV mission, which I haven't done yet.) I imagine playing on Nightmare must take much longer to complete a single playthrough. Once you can craft dynamite bolts and pop rockets, the game becomes almost a bit too easy on Hard mode.
At this point, I just rescued the leader of the Resistance and the people of Wellspring are starting to tell me the Authority is looking for me. I'm guessing I will have to leave Wellspring soon, but I want to earn enough racing certificates to unlock the next racing level and if possible finally beat the Frenzy card guy on the "hard" setting before I have to leave. It would be nice to earn a few more upgrades for the Cuprino as well.
Also, the job board keeps adding new quests.
