I like Kaidan myself but I have to agree that he might not be the WOOOWWZZZA type of guy. TBH I don't even fall for the poster guys...but Kaidan has the voice...the voice. Damn. Garrus has a sexy voice as well and I even considered making a new run for romancing him but he is a turian...my over-realistic personality doesn't allow my Femshep to romance him.

With Vega though it's like...get away from me piggy-face, I don't want to buy steroids! The linked fix-up pic shows a million times more realistic Vega. One thing I noticed first is that his shoulders are lower. His chest is also narrower. Makes a huge difference.

BW Vega is just plain unrealistic...

Ha, ha! Hope nobody took that as offensive. There's a reason I cast a very specific net toward physical attraction. The primary one is that I was curious to see if his appeal went further than the so called CoD fanboys that people claim Bioware is going after. I wanted to see if he appealed to the female gamers physically, since a point of debate is that he looks like he belongs on Modern Warfare with his hair style, body type, etc. But everyone is technically welcome to give his or her opinion!

Bingo! I feel that is EXACTLY what Bioware went for with Vega. His fave is hyper masculine with a very square jaw and really heavy brow. Most of his facial structure falls under that, I would argue (hence the "gorilla" comments). I'm curious as to who Bioware is trying to appeal with this: the straight male gamer who might not feel as masculine and will find him interesting for that reason, or the straight female gamer who might find him attractive because of how he looks? 

I figure my question probably doesn't get a large enough sample to make any kind of scientific conclusion, obviously, but it's an interesting discussion either way.

As a lady, no James vega does not appeal as a li for any of my sheps just based on his complety unappealing physical appearance (shallow I know)!

Appealing? 4/10. Not my type (I'm after geeky and chubby guys), but not hideous.

However, if asked "rate James as matching to what do you want to see in game", I'd say 9/10. This is the type I'll believe in when I see him in heavy armour with big gun. I'm sick and tired of skinny asari with Claymore/Revenant.

While obviously the Vega to the right looks much more attractive, I still prefer this Vega we know have. He looks much more 'iconic' that way.

I like the left one better. The one on the right has too much space between his nose and mouth.

It depends on character. He won't replace Garrus for me, but I have a soft spot for big quiet guys. However, I'm not so sure I dig the super tight shirt.... its somewhat hypnotic.

Honestly, I'm reserving judgement until I see what he's like. If he's got a great personality, I'm sure I'll find him more attractive than at first glance. If he's a turdbag, well, then he's a turdbag.

Not really.  To quote an old Bloom County strip, "Personally, I think really huge muscles are gross."  Only I mean it .  And, a mohawk?  If he really has a mohawk in game, just....no.

Doesn't mean he can't be a great character and teammate.  I mean, I don't find Garrus attractive, but I love the character nonetheless.

Purely going off of looks...HELLZ NO! =P But if they do good writing for him I may like him, kind of like I don't see Garrus attractive but applaud the char.

What endears me to him (despite that god awful comic) is the fact that he is shaping up to be a guardian for shep as he will be watching over him while he is in the brig.

From the sound of it, he will be a more naive aveline.

Vega does nothing for me.  Not into "bulky" guys, and his face makes me want to tweak the length of his nose from what I've seen so far.  If I had a physical type when it comes to guys, it would be lanky/skinny and tall.  His mini-comic was a major turn off, too, but we'll see how his personality develops ingame.  Personality goes a long, long way with me.

He's physically attractive but I keep getting the Jersey Shore-fist-pumping vibe from him which utterly destroys any potential asthetic pleasure for me.

I'm willing to give him a chance since BioWare's amazing characters have proved me wrong before but meh, he looks kinda..typical of the spray tan scene lol.

He's hot. I misjudged his looks (face) based on crappy LQ pic from collector's edition preview, I liked his looks more when I saw it in HQ and big resolution, I love how he looks when I saw him on the final picture.

I agree. The Vega on the left is better looking than the Vega on the right.

Also, I think Vega strikes a good balance with Kaidan and Jacob. We have a wider spectrum of male personality to interact with now.
