my point bein is that DA2 is what it is it cant be changed now so whats the point in endless complaining about it, it annoys the hell out of me that someone unhappy with the game cant just make their point once and then move on, Bioware have said that they have taken the criticisms on board and that should be enough but still the same people keep moaning about the same things and its mostly the same people that started 6 months ago.

TBH DAO was a massive dissapointment for many considering how long it was in development( 4 years give or take)

What does make me lol though is the ironic attitude of those same posters in that as soon as one person says to them you have made your point shut up already they go throwing the word troll around like a handbag in a shop sale.

No.

DA2 was my single biggest disappointment in my gaming history. And my 1st game was 'Elite' played off an audio cassette..

I will never forget, and I will not let 'them' .. !

Holy pot meet kettle. If the shoe fits....some people throw it.

As to the OP. I don't buy it. I didn't way back then, I don't now.

"Hey, somebody go throw a jagged olive branch at the people we pissed off with DA2 before it negatively affects Mass Effect 3 Preorders" - The guy in Charge of Getting Your Money regardless of the product quality.

You have made your point ... shut up already. :pinched:

You knew what this thread was about before you read a single post so don't act all "surprised" now.

You came to cast stones ... better be good a dodging too.

Troll.

I have actually wondered since I finished it if there ever was a game I had such high hopes for and that left me as disappointed as DA2, and honestly, I couldn't think of one. Image IPB

I just started a new run DA:O and I already remembered alot of things that always bothered me. Even about choices. I think people are already getting nostalgic and forget the one or other flaw of DA:O.

I'm playing DAO right now (My Aeducan Warden just crowned Harrowmont, and has already cleared the Circle Tower).  I'm certainly not nostaligc.  I have immediate experience with the game, and it allows me far more roleplaying freedom than DA2 does in nearly every aspect of the game.

I can't play DAO anymore. Not because its not a great game, but because I sucked the marrow from it time and time again over 7 full playthroughs (all origins, and then the mage origin again just for good measure). There is only one thing I did not experience in DAO and that was finding the farmer and his wife with the crater and the meteor rock. It was rare enough for me to not find after 100+ hours of playing and its only bonus was a sword which could be bought in a store later on and did not offer much in superior quality.

I started a third DA2 playthrough and STILL felt more burnt out on doing the same old thing than I did after 7 playthroughs of DAO... which each took significantly longer than the threadbare DA2 playthroughs took.

So, in my opinion, anyone from Bioware who says they were surprised by the backlash going from DAO to DA2 either A) Didn't play DAO B) Didn't play DA2 or C) is lying.

DA2 will be the last pre-order on a game I do, ever. Not just Bioware, but any company in the world... especially an EA-owned company.

I can't stare disappointment and let down in the face like that again.

In a nutshell:

DA2 was not a bad game, but it had 2 major flaws:

1) It felt rushed (ex. shorter, re-using areas)
2) It tried, unsuccessfully, to cater to non-RPG fans with a streamlining that alienated several RPG hardcore fans (ex. inventory system).

Many positive Bioware trademarks (interesting story, likable characters) were still there, but the game was inferior to DAO.

Yeah, the fan reaction caught them "off-guard".
Sure, sure, I believe it.
You'd think they see us as idiots or something, who wouldn't complain about their copy-paste environments and other obvious flaws their game has.

Maybe they thought people were emotionally stable enough not to cry and scream betrayal over copy-paste enviroments.

I don't think that critizing a bad move on a game you were expecting to like has anything to do with emotion instability.

Sure, there is people that overreacts, but also peope who feels disappointed.

Criticizing a game once is normal banging on about it for months on end as if BW killed their fluffy DAO kitten is emotional instability.

An intelligent person would realise its just a game and in the grand scheme of things is not all that important.
Alas the majority of the DAO fans on the BSN fall into the emotionally unstable "they killed my fluffy DAO kitten and anyone who tells me to grow up is a troll" category honestly my 7 year old cousin has more sense than most of the people on here.

it is but that was back then when the drama queeniness was less frequent and now its becoming very tiresome I'm all for people making a complaint about a game thats a fundemental right of a consumer after all but some posters on here act as if the Universe is doomed because DA2 was done differently to DAO whats more annoying though is that the same people keep repeating thier complaints time and again for months on end and its not new complaints from new users its the same old complaints from the same old users, So forgive me for asking that after 6 months of moaning would they please change the record as its getting very tired.
