Yep.. and there are great video games and lame ones. DA2 is not in the first category.
Thats totaly an opinion.
For instance... I think DA2 is a great game. Its not the best game of the last 2 years, but I found it to be pretty damn enjoyable, especially when compared to other games I've played and other games that came out in the last few years.
You really need a better game...Drakensang the true spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate.

Yes. I did say sarcastically "spiritual successor to BG" because DA is not it. It's a great rpg. Not the best mind you but still great.
This doesn't look any better imo.

Like I did in a previous thread, I'll reiterate that, production costs down, coupled with a game selling well initially then flat lining quickly (coming off the massive acclaim the prior game received, this game should have sold better strictly based on the game's name) doesn't seem to suggest a substantial new audience picked up the game, it also doesn't jusitify a promotion for the Lead Designer in my opinion. The latter being the final straw for my decision not to purchase DA3.
It's not Bioware's fault! It's the ultimate monolith of pure evil: Gamestop!
That's right! The game sold poorly not because it was a sloppy, disjointed mess that spat in the face of their core fanbase, but because of -used games-!
/sarcasm off
Edit- Oh, and pirates.

It's kind of pathetic that you take this seriously enough to be personally insulted by a video game.Everwarden wrote...

Hyperbole, mate. I don't take the game seriously at all, I view it as something that is gloriously bad and a lot of fun to mock. A bit like The Room, or Star Wars: Episode I.
The insult didn't really come from the game itself (I can understand a rushed production), but the spin of the Bioware executives accusing fans of not liking the game because it's too innovative, too awesome, too much of a change from the crap that they're used to. That's ridiculous, and it's pretty clearly an insult to the angry swarm of fans. That doesn't mean I actually care on a personal level, I'm just assessing the thinly veiled intent of the statements and pointing them out.

Oh, I don't know. I'd buy a used version if I found a game of the year edition of Dragon Age 2 in a Gamestop bargain bin for $1.99.

If that's how you want to read it, sure. I consider it some good-natured ribbing.
In the first month after release I did a lot of sober analysis on where Dragon Age II went wrong and why it wasn't nearly as good as Origins. There isn't much left to be said on the subject other than the occasional sarcastic jibe. If you don't approve, I'm very sorry and hope no sincere offense was taken.

I did, too, and I really love DA2, but I can understand some people complaining about things like enemies falling from the sky.

Maybe the what 4 maybe 5 different environments.
Terrible graphics even though we were told it would great
Disconnected plot
Timeskips that provide nothing either through story or visual changes
Crafting was dumbed considerably and takes only the minimum of effort
Bioware ocntinuing first day DLC
Worst protaginost I've played in a RPG since ever
Combat while improved suffered from terrible waves and people falling from the skies
Nightmare isn't hard just longer. Just increasing health doesn't make it harder
Worst cast of characters I've ever seen I didn't care about anyone except Varric
Anders, Zevran, Nathaniel and Leliana are alive even though Origins/Awakening I killed them or was told they died. I was under the impression that the Epilogue was all knowing...apparently not.
Hawke has abolutely nothing to add to the story. If you remove Hawke the story can sitll go on and decisions do even less than in Origins.
PC users can AoE properly
No Isometric camera....because they want us to stare at the ceiling?
No SDK at least I could mod or change what I don't like in Origins
Most uninspiried game world I've ever seen. Why does ever thing use same sandpaper walls and what is with the horrible sense of scale? The Hanged Man looks tiny from outside and inside it's like 5 or 6 rooms a long hallway
Everyone is incompetent. I actually gave the Qunari leader Isabella and he can't manage to hold on to her...seriously everyone is incompetent
Magic is used as a crutch for story telling. Meredith has gone crazy because of a magic infused idol. If there is something weird going on it's obviously magic I'm still waiting for the Dark Fantasy I was promised with Origins
Bioware is continuing to nickel and dime people with overpriced DLC when they could offer it free as an incentive. Was DA2 not commercially successful?
But idk that's just me.

Angry Birds, Plants vs Zombies, Devil May Cry can boast with just being enjoyable but a CRPG needs other traits. Plus, I didn't enjoy DA2. Combat was boring because it was repetitive, unrealistic and aimless.

BioWare needs to make Dragon Age with the quality and passion Skyrim is, and The Witcher 2 was.
