I don't see the problem with the S/S support thread being for... support. It's "For The Love", not "Against The Love".
As a S/S supporter, I'll give my two cents.
Pros:.
- More role-playing opportunities for everyone.
- Bi characters, whom IMO tend to be Bioware's best characters. (ex. Leliana)
- Might credit itself to some new lore on how sexuality is treated in ME. Not just with gender, but with aliens.
Cons:
- S/S content takes up resources and disc space, albeit very minor amounts.
- The endless whining and arguing attributed to the inclusion on BSN.
- Could make some people uncomfortable (though I can't really see why in a simple videogame).
My problem is with anything that is NOTcompletely "for the Love" being redirected to the support thread.AdmiralCheez wrote...
True, but a gaming forum isn't exactly the right place to do that. Bioware made a controversial decision, and they're trying to minimize the sh*tstorm. If you're really worked up about something that isn't kosher for the BSN, you might want to just write a blog about it and let the people you want to read it know where it is.EternalAmbiguity wrote...
People don't get through things by hiding from it, they get through it by facing it head on. Women's rights and inequality and all that stuff didn't come about in back-room deals, it came about when people stood up in front of crowds and created a stir.
Besides, encouraging bigotry won't do anything but ****** people off.
I'm not all that worked up, it's just annoying to see these threads pop up, some people saying some good stuff, a couple saying bad stuff, and it gets locked.
Bioware is Bioware, no freedom of speech here.

Keep your s/s love out of my game (find a solution, because I don't like to use alt + F4 to get rid of the unwanted romance) and I'll be happy.

Way to take what I've said out of context, dear. Expected more from you than Xili-level bigotry, especially considering the fact that I've clarified this in my response to your PM, after you went out of your way to call me a homophobe.IsaacShep wrote...
Sweetheart, Kasier tried that in the previous thread. And he said gay relationships are "sexual depravities". So spare us these cover excuses.
Xilizhra wrote...
You respond:Indeed. The majority of people don't give a ****, and as long as none of the male LIs damages their masculinity by hitting on them, they'll continue to not give a ****. The whiners are a much smaller demographic than those who'd enjoy it, a group that doesn't just include gay people.
Xilizhra responds:The whiners are the people who'd enjoy it.
'We' in Xilizhra 's post is of course "supporters of gay romances". You respond:Ah, but we're victorious. We have nothing to whine about.
'You people' of course = Xilizhra = supporter of gay romances and he/she (don't know Xilizhra's gender) even specifically mention male/male romances/hitting on. And EVEN if you talked about more than just gay romances, you still obviously included gay romances in 'sexual depravities'. So please.Doesn't mean that you people haven't been whining for Jubileus knows how long. And if you consider sexual depravities of any sort taking precedence over the integrity of the story and its characters a victory,
then go ahead.

Considering how disdainful you are of (supposedly) all romantic content, why don't you play another game that doesn't include this?

Out of curiousity, what did you think of Tali and Garrus as romanceables?NICKjnp wrote...
Removing it out right from the game is not fair. I see the concern the supporters have for it. And I want them to be able to role-play themselves as much as I do. I just don't like it when Bioware changes their characters so drastically. It is why I am supportive of new LI's just not the old ones.

S/S seems to baffle them.
Solving for S/S yields S divided by S which is always 1. Anything divided by itself is 1.
So the answer to S/S is 1.
Problem solved.

I suppose if you ignore all the other character interaction, the main conflict concerned with killing mechanized Cthulhu faces, and the shooter/exploration gameplay that makes up the majority of the game... then sure.Kaiser Shepard wrote...

What about accidental gay sex as a con. Yer just trien to be a good friend to Kaidan and suddenly he is in your room trien to give you smoochies. That almost happened with Anders in DA2.
Reload?
Seriously whats the problem?
If you make a mistake in a firefight ans Shep takes a grenade to the face and dies.. you reload, If you aren't paying attention to a conversation and it goes down a unintended path..reload.

BW romances are generally the same, though, whether we are talking about ME vs. DA or heterosexual only vs. bisexual.
They all follow the same pattern.

Unacceptable. There are times when the ole wheel o' conversation isn't clear and times when what is written on the wheel comes out nothing like what was there. I shouldn't have to reload a game when my options for a conversation were unclear (game flaw). Now if it is blatant in what it says and I screw up, then yes I should reload the game.

Tali is 24 as of ME2, which takes place two years after ME1. so.,..
24-2=22.
You heard it here folks, 22 years old is pedophillia. Some of us are going to jail.
