I know they did that with the first dragon age game, with all of the extra content and expansion rolled into one, I was just wondering if there was going to be a possibility for that for this game. I remember shoving out the money for the original, the expansion, and several extras, then the ultimate edition came out several months later.

So yea. I kind of am waiting on buying this game, since I'm not too eager to burn the money on this game and the extras again like I did the last time, then some ultimate edition gets released lol.

It won't happen, unless they put out an expansion. Then it may be a better bet. Check back in a year or a year and a half.

They might do a game of the year edition at some point. Though those don't really show up unless there are a few DLCs. ATM there is only one DA2 DLC and one coming in a few weeks.

It really depends on how much DLC they put out for the game and, if there is one, it won't be for a good while yet. Probably not until the game has been out for at least a year.

Why would they announce an "Ultimate Edition" if they haven't even put out all the DLC yet? If they did a lot of people would hold off on getting the DLC as it releases and instead wait for said Ultimate Edition to drop. Sounds like bad business for EA/BioWare to me. Either way they haven't confirmed or denied that there's one in the works.

Then I would wait until it's like 20 bucks USED lol. I'm no fanboy, I'll buy used. Sorry for EA/Bioware not gettin the profits, but hey, 40 bucks for the content on that one disc ain't worth it. Once upon a time video game RPGS took 40+ hours to finish, and I'm reading DA2 and it's side missions can take less than 20.

Good point since that's kinda what happened with the first DA. Oh well. On to the next RPG to finish on my list...

My main game is at almost 60 hrs (with Legacy). Unless your source is skipping dialogue/content I can't see this being beaten in less than 30.

I tolled 45 hrs without skipping, though I didn't read any codex entries post my 1st playthrough, 45 is still quite the respectable length for a game.

It already came out, but it's only for PS3.

Yeah, those suck. But I don't find it crippling to actually getting to play it, it only happens in maybe 4-5 spots throughout the game in my experience. DA2's bug with the sound files firing at once during combat and causing some ugly crackling is far worse than any audio sync issue. I'll be waiting for the next DA2 patch for that one.

After completing the all the side quests and DLC available, I've had playthroughs that have been 60+ hours, but only completing the main plots and skipping cutscenes, I can see a playthrough coming in at under 30 hours

I sort of doubt that they will release an Ultimate edition of DA2, since they already released the original game for download in the PSN. It would be good if they at least released a last update fixing many bugs in PS3, especially the one that corrupts game saves

Not enugh DLC to warrant one. If more DLC and possibly an expansion is made, probably but not even ME2 got anything like that, other than the PS3 version but that didn't have everything.

DAII is $5 on direct2drive but I'd like to know if an ultimate ed. with all the dlc will ever be released.
Even at $5 I'm holding back buying for that possibility.

I'm waiting, I dislike buying games than paying the same amount (or more) in DLC when the DLC doesn't offer anywhere near the same amount of content per pound. EA tried to force a £32 Awakening expansion on UK PS3 users by making it PSN only, who were they kidding? The main game was £40 on release. Stuff like this just turns me off all DLC for a game. I passed and eventually bought DAOUE for a reasonable price for the content it offered.

I rented DA2, I'll happily buy it if/when a version with all the DLC is included.

I agree with you here. DLC for these games is overpriced and never goes on sale. I never purchased DLC before and never will for this game, though I acquired plenty of DLC for all my other games.

i think they should bring out an ultimate edition for DA 2 as well - like the did for origins

DA 2 has been out for over a year now
we have the game and DLC's - i think its time for the ultimate edition to come out!
