A sample
When you kill a Bazz in the game, it turns to stone.
When you kill a Bozak in the game, it explodes!
(Just like in the books)

Cheers

I just wanted to post a few thoughts about this server. I think it could have had the potential to be something great. It had a lot of wonderful things about it - interesting areas, challenging monsters, decent loot etc. But all of the good was outweighed by one shining bad: The DM. He is over bearing, childish and needy. The second I showed interest in another server, he became upset and acted like a spoiled child, complete with temper tantrum. This alone is the only reason that this server is doomed to fail.
Are you even serious? Everytime I logged onto your server I had to tolerate you teleporting me about, toggeling my vulnerability and randomly killing me off or making me fight monsters I couldn't even touch, for what, your amusement?Ansalon_Krynn wrote...

Talk about needy, you did nothing but complain since day 1 I put the server up publically, I bent over backwards to accomadate you, even took time to set up some forums you begged for. It wasn't your showing interest in another server (like I could care) you just threw a tantrum when I switched to the Role PLay Section from PW Action and you wouldn't accept that. YOU do not dictate my server.
You really need to grow up and I hope you find a server that will cater to your every whim..I got real tired of it, and let you know about it. Have a great life...
As far as getting people to my server, this is the deal. I have A LOT of players on my server (6 years running now (privately), just recently 'public', mainly to avoid people like you) go check the website and I could care less if they all left! My joy is creating the world, I could care less if YOU or anyone else visits it. If people want to come and play, cool! I will bare the expense of running my server 24/7 for thier enjoyment, if not Cool! Have a nice life someplace else.
I 'm VERY SURE the readers here know your type..I could give a Orc Fart less..
From experience, the longest lasting and most fun servers are the ones with the community in mind. If there is no give and take, people tend to leave, and find places that are receptive to their input. I don't consider this to be the player claiming "ownership", but more like having their voices heard.ffbj wrote...
Well speaking form some personal experience, though not taking sides in this, I would say that there sometimes is a tendency for players who like a server to get some ownership syndrome, in that they know how best to run the server, or what should be done. I have had a few players that got angry when I changed things, not to their liking, or refused to change things they did not like. I do listen to what people have to say and have made some changes as a result of those suggestions. But this was not to placate the players. I just thought their suggestion had merit.
It is a rather interesting though confusing phenomena, the ownership syndrome.

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying that you're taking sides, I was just saying that in general sometimes people have a valid reason for wanting to have their voices heard. And I understand what you're saying, so I think we're all on the same line now.ffbj wrote...
Well like I said I wasn't taking sides since I wasn't there. Personally I have never done anything like what you describe, though I have been on the receiving end of such treatment, like getting turned to stone by a Dm simply because our party defeated a group of monsters and the Dm wanted to exact some revenge. At least that is what it felt like. I was just pointing out that I understood what Ansalon_Krynn was saying.
