Looking forward to spend 40 quid on a feature I won't use, how many years will it be until The Mass Effect series is finally trashed, milked and dragged through the mud by Bioware? If multiplayer is which obviously is, bioware will only focus on making it better, thus wasting more resource on this piece of **** and less towards campaign. Part of me hopes Mass Effect 3 fails so badly, that would be one juicy slap in the face for them.

How do you know what they will focus on it? How do you know the campaign would get less resources if there was multiplayer?  One is not mutually exclusive to the other. Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Dead Space 2 had multiplayer and excellent single player.

Most of the AC fans over at the Hidden Blade consider the singleplayer of AC:B to the be absolute worst in the series. 

Then they're being overly snooty. It was fine. On top of that, even if you don't like the singleplayer. there's no way to know whether it would have better or worse with or without it.

Look to the previous game for your answer. 

AC:B single player is just as good as AC2. Hell, it even improves in a few ways. People just like to moan.

BioWare is not going to announce a major feature using some Xbox magazine I've never heard of before. Perhaps PCGamer or something, but Xbox World? No.

Space combat sounds nice, and it actually would make sense in the series. I'd love piloting the Normandy and blasting Reapers to bits!

I will most likely just be able to ignore like I do with most other games that don't look promising on the multiplayer front.

Honestly, multiplayer is not that big a deal to me. I'd rather they announce/explain why that FemShep picture looks so bizarre.

It's not the same magazine.  The one which actually had MP in the cover was 'XBox 360 World' and this one is 'XBox World'.

The thing is co-op IS multiplayer; even if they do include coop without versus multiplayer, it is still multiplayer. So it's a lose-lose situation. And frankly, I don't see how coop would work in Mass Effect. Just because it's a squad-based game doesn't automatically make it coop-compatible. There is obviously much more to Mass Effect than the squad and the shooting.

Best to keep ME3 as is and focus on ending the story on a high note and giving the trilgoy the respect it deserves. After that, I'm all for a spinoff with all types of multiplayer in it.
