BioWare is not going to announce a major feature using some Xbox magazine I've never heard of before. Perhaps PCGamer or something, but Xbox World? No.

Just... no.

My thoughts exactly.

They don't have to "announce" it, it's most likely the embargoed information from the EA Las Vegas show and it will be revealed prior to the magazine going on shelves.  The timing of the magazine's release should be lined up near the public annonucement.

They might if it is an Xbox exclusive feature (such as a new use for Kinect, although I can't see that being a 'killer' new feature), but then again if that were the case they'd probably use OXM, not Xbox World.

That would be my thinking as well, it's happened before.

If it's multiplayer, the only thing I will be thinking is surely they could have spent the time it took to make MP and used it to make the SP experience better, which at the end of the day is what the game is all about.

I don't even no why people bother speculating on something that could be fairly critical area of the game coming from this article. I really wouldn't get ur hopes up, they are probably going to be dash. In all likelihood it's just the writers of that mag trying to hype up their product.

The 'killer new feature' is probably something not worth the hype.

Aren't you multiplayer dreamers sick of being proven wrong time and time again? There was just another thread about a convention I swear that was made like a week ago predictiing announcement with basically the same result as the one before that and the one before that. It is far to late in production to even think of multiplayer for ME3. For a future ME title maybe but not for ME3.

I don't see why people, without any evidence, say that if MP or Co-Op is in ME3, then the SP side must have obviously been neglected.

Again, we have no information on ME3's budget and the effect, if any, of adding MP depends on how the funds were earmarked.

If ME3 was given a set budget and unrestricted additional budgetary provisions, then using those funds to create MP would have diminished the funds available to work on SP. Of course, this doesn't take into account that the developers may have been able to create the SP side, as they envisioned, under budget then used the remaining funds to work on MP.

If instead, additional funds were given to the ME3 team specifically to create MP, then SP's budget would not have been affected.

Personally, if MP is in the game, I believe the latter would be the most likely scenario. Either before or after ME3's release was pushed back, I wouldn't be surprised if EA/BioWare gave the team a budget specifically meant to be used to add multiplayer since it's a realtively inexpensive feature to add and the higher-ups would probably believe it would drum up sales.

If I had to guess, Xbox World/CVG are using the fact that every EA game comes with an "online pass" as confirmation of their rumor. Mass Effect 2  also came with one.

Online pass to play multiplayer? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

It's not a first though. Uncharted 3 will use it as well. Basically it's "Project 10$"

So it looks like the delay to release was maybe to add multiplayer.

I just love when they're giving me more and more reasons to not play something that shouldn't even be there to begin with.

ME has a pause function. Multiplayer wouldn't work.

No, even after the delay was announced they said they had no idea how multiplayer would work in Mass Effect and therefore focused on single-player only. If there is multiplayer I bet some other developer would handle it.

Pausing was for your convenience. The wheel could still work without the game pausing. This would be very anoying on consoles so I guess they could give each player just enough powers to bind them to buttons. On PC it shouldn't be a problem because it has plenty of hotkeys.

And maybe you just select your loadoutnof three powers, and then they're mapped to different buttons, it's not impossible.
