Multiplayer/co-op would likely be completely divorced from the main game. But I'm not optimistic about SP. Bioware isn't Rockstar.
What do you mean?

Just how long was that one's campaign? I've been meaning to start playing that game for a while now, but haven't found the right incentive yet.King Minos wrote...
Dead Space 2 was one of those games that did not need multiplayer, it did and the campaign length sucked and the multiplayer blows, was lifeless after a month.

It's
happening. On twitter, the devs have been talking about "mystery feature
X" for months, and how awesome it is. At the bare minimum, it will be
campaign co-op. But I'm guessing it's a full blown multiplayer
component, Gears of War style.
I think that if
we'll get some MP, it'll be a co-op (though I don't know if a full
campaign, I don't see the reason for another player to use a squadmate
that has less power, two defaul weapon and lesser damage with powers and
weapons. Maybe there'll be some specific missions outside the story). I
really doubt it'll be a competitive MP.

I found the horror in both games to be the same, in fact I found it better in Dead Space 2, then in the first game. The length of the game was the same as the first one which had no multiplayer.King Minos wrote...
The length sucked and the horror was turned down while shooting was up to amuse the cod fans. More action overall, Dead Space 2 should not even be advertised as a horror.

It's not going to be multiplayer or Co-op! Even if it was you people are crazy! "I don't want MP in ME3"... you don't have to play it! I wouldn't mind if it is or not.
I just hope that this new feature X is truely awesome!
Who's that on the cover, that sure ain't Shepard.

That is not the issue here. Most people's issue is that it would devalue and be wasted funds that they could be spending on improving the single player experience like they should be, how it has been, and how it always should be.They would have to pretty much revamp the entire combat system if it there were to be any multiplayer cause as of now none of the powers would work for multiplayer as several people before have explained why. Mass Effect as of now is about one person's journey/story, not two people just ONE! I personally think that these mags are getting Old republic info mixed up with ME3 info.JimiShep wrote...

You are assuming that the money given to multiplayer would have gone to single player if there was no multiplayer. It is very likely that the money would have just stay in EA's pockets. They would also need to revamp combat only if it is competitive miltiplayer, co-op would work just fine with the current combat system.Genshie wrote...

You still prove my point that it would still be a waste of money otherwise. I rather have them have all their focus on the single player rather than having a halfassed multiplayer co-op be made. Someone please explain to me how co-op would work with the current system? It can't. The pausing would make it horrendous, only one person would be able to decide on choices in convos, and only one person would be able to activate the interrupts. Unless they are implementing the roll system from Old republic with the highest roller wins the choice in convo then it wouldn't work. The power system such as the soldier's adrenaline rush won't translate and the vanguard's biotic charge wouldn't translate. You would have to completely redesign multiple classes just for co-op to work. Unless both players are allowed to be able to change the story effectively then this idea is a won't work since this is afterall Shepard's story as has been said several times over. This is a one man show.The-Person wrote...

EA wouldn't be making it though it would be by the same people designing ME3. Yes, they may have a different team but you would still need people working on the main project to help direct it. This shifts focus off of the singleplayer experience to waste time on reformatting the current system to work for co-op. The current system is not meant for co-op as it is now.JimiShep wrote...

I agree.. I think that if funds were provided for MP it would come from EA not Bioware. EA would be the one pushing MP on Bioware...
