I think they've said that ME3 won't have that kind of gameplay either.

You will see ship battles, but you won't take control over anything.

Yes, misconceptions.  They've never once actually stated there wouldn't be multiplayer.  Every time it's come up they've dodged it with stuff like "We're focusing on single-player."

It doesn't say anything about the pass being exclusive to CE. Cerberus Network was also advertised on ME2 CE ads but it wasn't exclusive.

Phoenix, not sure about that. The Cerberus Network is basically light-DRM; buy the game and you get additional content. Might have been advertised first for the CE, but I'm 99% sure it was always intended to be included with all editions.

The more I think about it, the less sense it makes.

If Gamestop leaked this - and they've been known to leak such things before - I'd buy. But this is a random retailer in South Africa. The advertisement obviously isn't official. You mean to tell me that BT games is privy to information that none of the other stores much higher up on the food chain - Best Buy, Gamestop - have learned about?

No, that BT Games was the one to leak it/accidentaly reveal. If there is MP do I think other retailers know, especially ones such big as GameStop/Best Buy? Hell yes, they just kept their mouth shut for once this time.

@ Azbeszt - Actually that wouldn't surprise me. EA seems to have a very peculiar means of determining whether they think something will be good for a game or not. "Ooooh, they're talking about MP. Lots of buzz. Clearly this is a win. Cram some sort of MP in the thing and rush it out the door. I'm sure we'll profit."
