Stop crying! Why wouldn't you want something that will do nothing but add longevity to the game that you love without jeopardizing it? (Because BioWare WILL NOT let its fans down, you all know how much they respond to their fanbase. They probably do more than any other game developer.)

Now believe in your favorite game developer's plans or GTFO of the damn BSN.

I call bull**** on 99% of you to say that you will not touch the game if it has multiplayer.

Judging by the placement of that bubble, the only logical conclusion is that it will reveal Femshep is a hermaphrodite.

I imagine the inclusion of multiplayer would require the release of a public beta. Not counting October, would the remaining time before ME3's release date be enough for anything like that to happen?

Battlefield 3 comes out October 25th. The beta started September 27th.

I fear that if MP is included in Mass Effect 3 we won't finish the story. What is there left to fight if Shepard destroys the Reapers?

The bigger Reapers.

I must say I'm expecting multiplayer and I look forward to seeing the forum explode as a result.

If it is multiplayer, I hope they would include it on a third disk, or as DLC.

Well of course it's multiplayer. What feature can be more "killer"? Hopefully it will attract more of Call of Duty's audience. After all, the final chapter of the trilogy is the best place to start for newcomers.

I actually have no problem with the multiplayer itself, it is just that those of us who are so commited to seeing the resolution of the single player story being done well recognise that the inclusion of multiplayer will take development time (and potentially disc space) away from the main game

Also, not that I approve, but the general consensus is that you should 'GTFO of the damn BSN' if you don't doubt 'your favourite game developer's plans'

Too late, bro. ME2 was a disappointment to me, so they have let one fan down (and many others as well) so this statement shows a large amount ignorance. You put too much faith in Bioware.

Maybe your favorite Dev but my personal favorite dev is Bethesda, they have yet to create a game I haven't enjoyed immensely for hundreds of hours. So don't assume your favorite dev is everyone elses.

I've been following some of these discussions regarding MP, maybe this has been brought up before, if so, I apologise.
Is it atall possible that the "alleged" MP would be a seperate game entirely?
We already know that ME3 is to be the final installment of Shepards epic story. In my opinion, it would be doubtful that such a radical change in direction to include MP would be implemented during this SP storyline.
I'm possibly being too optimistic but I'm thinking that after ME3 and the conclusion of Sheps story, there will be a seperate Mass Effect game that is MP orientated.
It makes more sense from a marketing pov, they aren't alienating their core fans throughout the SP trilogy but moving on after it, they will still be keeping the success of the Mass Effect brand alive and kicking through MP.

p.s please don't hate on the non-registered user :P, I've been hooked on my husbands ME2 and I'm currently stalking our postman eagerly awaiting the delivery of my own copy :)

Yep. It's time much better spent elsewhere.

The problem with multiplayer in Mass Effect is that most people don't need it, and quite a few don't even want it. I'm sure most of us would prefer more single player content.

That doesn't mean it will be bad, it could even be fantastic, but that still doesn't mean people will play it. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer was nice, and yet it's not that popular. Dead Space 2 and Bioschok 2 also had decent multiplayer modes, but most people bought these for the single player experience. In the end, no matter how good the effort was, it's almost useless. Chances are that people who want to play with others will keep playing cod, battlefield, or gears of war...or the old republic. And while I'd personally enjoy some sort of horde mode if in mass effect, I'm not sure that's the best way for bioware to spend their money.

I wouldn't like multiplayer in ME3 at all. This trilogy isn't about multiplayer. For future Mass Effect installations, sure. But not this one. I certainly hope the "new killer feature" is something else than multiplayer.

Female Shepard looks terrible. She looks like a damn pale red-headed muppet crossed Roger from American Dad. LOL!

Thanks but IsaacShep already corrected me on this. Image IPB I'm happy to be corrected when I'm wrong.

It still leaves issues as to budget. I'm not too worried about disc space -- some people were screaming about having to swap between two discs for ME2 (really, I mean, really? try playing games on a 5.25" floppy), but as far as I'm concerned you can just put MP on a separate disc. I don't see the issue there. I just see siphoning of the budget, splitting resources, and dilution of the single-player focus that has been ME. If it's just a plugged in, simple MP, as it looks like it will be, it will be slammed as an anemic MP attempt and the ratings and sales will suffer for it. It's a bad, bad move.

It is, which is why some people are saying "don't get upset". Until yesterday, I agreed, 100%. However, yesterday a marketing flyer from some South African distributor was leaked that referred to an "multiplayer pass". Could be a communications snafu (e.g., the new version of the Cerberus Network), but I am beginning to doubt that.

Unfortunately that seems to be one thing this isn't likely to be. Image IPB If so, pretty much every video game news source has been fooled.

Poor Isaac. His thread has become a hijacked, jumbled mess....

It is and it isn't the magazine that is the source of the rumor. The magazine is only alluding to a big announcement. The rumor itself is coming from a marketing flyer from a South African games retailer called BT Games.

What do you expect? When you hear the same rumor from 4 different sources (all in turn based on the same original source) and you start repeating this rumor, without even validating the source, of course you're just going to fool yourself. Doesn't stop video game news sources from making themselves look like total idiots by taking rumors and then 'confirming them' themselves though.<_<
