I've been running the Origin digital download version of Mass Effect 2 (v1.02) and I've noticed on occasion that the dialogue will skip (as in someone will be talking but not be able to finish their sentence) without any interaction on my part.
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional SP1
Processor: AMD Phenom II X3 720
RAM: 4 GB
Video Card: nVidia GTS 250
Audio: High Definition Audio Device
DirectX: DirectX 11
It's hard to replicate as it doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally.

How occasionally? I have a feeling it might be antivirus or something on automatic scan that could be interfering with the game.

You havent given anywhere near enough information.
Game version and distribution. 32 or 64 bit Windows. Exact audio device and driver revision. GPU driver revision.

Moondoggie - I don't think I've ran into the problem since near the first part of the game. Right now I'm on Horizon fighting off the Collectors and haven't noticed it yet.
Bogsnot - actually if you read the post, you'd know the game version & distribution. :-)
it's 32-bit Windows, exact audio device is onboard audio (High Definition Audio Device). GPU driver revision is 285.38

It was a cut'n'paste reply. Being in these forums for so long answering the same questions, your fingers get tired typing out stock responses.
Have a look in Control Panel -> Device Manager to find out the exact model of the audio device if you can. If its Realtek or SigmaTel, I would suggest going to the manufacturers website and downloading the latest driver, as the version that was included with Win7 for both those devices has been found to be rather unstable and unreliable.
Its rare, but it has been found occasionally that newish drivers for GPU's (mainly Nvidia) can overburden the games processes and lead to various glitches, including glitched audio. Try uninstalling the current drivers, and installing older ones, namely the 258.xx series, which are known to be stable with ME2.
