The graphics are fine.
So what if they get pixilated when you zoom in really  close?

You have no idea. They look blurry and ugly. You totally forgot that higher resolution in PC's are making the low resolution textures more obvious. I whine because they don't take advantage of the available hardware. At least we shouldn't worry about jaggies, blurry texture filtering and low resolution in case it turns out to be direct port. BioWare should watch and learn from DICE. Why in hell they should stop reaching higher visual fidelity?

And Gears 3 doesn't look THAT much different from Gears 2. But you know something? It definitely plays a lot better.

I have a feeling this will be the case with ME3. The graphics are already amazing as it is, there isn't much else you can do to make it better, albeit it probably WILL look better, I'm just saying it's more likely that the gameplay will be the thing that's vastly improved and from what I've seen so far, that's indeed the case.

What do you play in, 2560x1440?
I play in 720p because of my HD PVR.
Even on my PC is only 1600x900.
I don't get it.
Why do PC gamers **** so much?

So let me ask you something.  Is it fine in your eyes for Bioware to use the same textures for PC that they use for the Xbox 360, given the fact that the modern gaming PC has far more available VRAM and system memory, plus orders of magnitude more computational power?

Would it be fine in your book, for a theoretical Mass Effect 4 that will run on the Xbox 720 (or whatever the hell it's going to be called) to have the same texture and graphical quality as it's predecessor, despite running on more advanced hardware?

1080p but the sharpness is on different level on 21.5" screen compared to large TV. Many console games are scaled from sub HD resolutions to 720p but as far as I know Mass Effect is true 720p game. I played at higher resolution than that 10 years ago.

But I don't get it. Why are you against it that PC gamers want high quality resolution textures for example? Some console gamers haven't got the slightest idea what modern PC's are capable of. They can barely run the game at 30 fps when PC's churn out 200 maxed out with antialiasing and so on. Developers could use that processing power.

I was at the Eurogamer Expo and had a go on ME3 at first glance it just all looked brighter, and then the same usual static boring empty enivironments, same robotic moving characters and then alas Commander Shepard with his robot face emotionless look.

1) Looked brighter?
2) Static? There is a Cerberus shuttle flying in, and there is a team of STG operatives in the middle of a firefight with a Cerberus element. What are you on about?
3) Boring? Maybe to you. The scenery is awesome.
4) Roboting moving what?

Since this is supposed to be the end in the trilogy the final attack etc I would have thought Bioware would have put more time and effort in making this game look epic and feel epic.

Sure. Do you want it to look Illiad-epic, or rather Kalevala-epic?

Why not give the characters a better feel and look?

Feel? The look is definitely better, other than Liara's placeholder face texture.

Why not make the characters seem important? Why not include things in the environment?

Like the ones that you missed?

Also in ME1 it was all about being a Spectre however it did have some feeling of importance when you became one yet in 2 it means nothing and in 3? Well time will tell.

Wait I think I am starting to get it-

Again Mass Effect 1 is still the best, not only did it look great but it was an RPG it had loot and all sorts personally having tried ME3 its just ME 2.5 at best its a big shame I was seriously hoping given Biowares reputation on making some pretty awesome games that ME3 would have had a lot more to in it.

But I guess thats what happens when you go over to EA...You are forces to make games yearly...If only you guys has gone with Microsoft and kept it exclusive eh?

HOW DID I FALL FOR THIS

Evacuate the forums! The invasion has begun! It's them!

I agree with you, OP. You'll get ripped by the usual suspects who bow down and worship this game, but I absolutely agree with you.

If the newest multiplayer rumor is true...shown with the new redone and friggin plastic FemShep look, it particularly reaffirms for me my complete and total disgust for what has happened to this series and with BioWare in general. This series is now a pure third person shooter, linear as linear and a far cry from what made Mass Effect a great game. After what we saw with DA2, should we have expected any different?

From what we know about this game, it isn't a game I'm excited about at all...and I never thought I'd say that about Mass Effect. I will complete the series...for I need to know how the story I invested so much in ends, but this is the last Mass Effect game I will be playing if there are more in the future, along with the last BioWare game I play. Furthermore, I will not be buying this third person shooter until it drops significantly in price. I have cancelled my preorder and payed off Skyrim for November 11th pickup.

It's a shame what this franchise and company has become. I suspect many fans will stick around to finish the story, then shy away from the linear third person shooter and weak rpg developer BioWare has become.

That's right, BioWare. Your rpgs suck. Good luck trying to reattract Dragon Age fans who already figured it out.

You aren't any better. See it our way. There's nothing elitist about wanting developers to keep innovating and making use of current hardware.

I finish this conversation from my part.

I'm not against it.
I just don't understand why people would spend $2000 on an Alienware rig or something.
Anthing over 60fps is really hard to notice anyway.

So you ignore all the new rpg elements they put in and the fact the are not forcing you to play with the default fem shep? Also, how was ME1 not linear?

I'll say one last thing, you don't even have to spend 1/4 to get a rig that does 60 fps in Mass Effect 2 @ 1080p. Who buys overpriced Alienware rigs anyway? I build my rigs and upgrade the when needed. You don't notice anything above 60 fps if your monitor doesn't support higher refresh rate (my does 75Hz). And that's the point. They could utilize all that excessive power. See it our way. It's a bit depressing.

Again, you don't have to pay no where near that price. Way less than half of that will give better experience than console. On top of that you gain higher resolution for that ridiculously large screen. I can hook my PC to TV when I want. There's nothing stopping me from doing that. For your information PC's have had game controllers forever. I use Xbox 360 pad for racing games myself. That comment has more fail than win. I'm out, no point in arguing with clueless console lovers.

Here is how much credibility rpg fans need to give the critics of Mass Effect, the original: ask them about Fallout 3's combat.

If they say it sucks, then its obvious who they are and you can safely just ignore them. They are fans of the pew pew pew pew pew, in tight corridors. Which is one reason they love ME.

And Gears of War 3 gets mentioned a lot on here in comparison to Mass Effect. Not good, BioWare.

Just watch Skyrim sales, BioWare. Just watch.

Sure, that would suck if ME4 used outdated software.
In this **** economy, can they really afford to amp the graphics for PC?
Who has a PC with enough power to run it at that?
I know I would never pay $1000 for a PC when I can sit comfortable in my gaming chair with my Astro A40's on enjoying a nice time on my xbox.
I just can't seem to comprehend why peole only complain here on BSN.
