I agree with you, OP. You'll get ripped by the usual suspects who bow down and worship this game, but I absolutely agree with you.
If the newest multiplayer rumor is true...shown with the new redone and friggin plastic FemShep look, it particularly reaffirms for me my complete and total disgust for what has happened to this series and with BioWare in general. This series is now a pure third person shooter, linear as linear and a far cry from what made Mass Effect a great game. After what we saw with DA2, should we have expected any different?
From what we know about this game, it isn't a game I'm excited about at all...and I never thought I'd say that about Mass Effect. I will complete the series...for I need to know how the story I invested so much in ends, but this is the last Mass Effect game I will be playing if there are more in the future, along with the last BioWare game I play. Furthermore, I will not be buying this third person shooter until it drops significantly in price. I have cancelled my preorder and payed off Skyrim for November 11th pickup.
It's a shame what this franchise and company has become. I suspect many fans will stick around to finish the story, then shy away from the linear third person shooter and weak rpg developer BioWare has become.
That's right, BioWare. Your rpgs suck. Good luck trying to reattract Dragon Age fans who already figured it out.

smh. Can we not criticize a game that doesn't come out for at least another five months on how it plays. IT was a demo and not even one everyone could play, meaning from the comfort of their homes. Also we still haven't seen the finished product. What we've seen from most of the demos and some pictures have placeholders. So let's not start a flamewar on graphics, and the name calling. When the game is released and you find problems with the final product then you have a logical reason to get pissed.

Lol.
The graphics are fine.
So what if they get pixilated when you zoom in really close?
So let me ask you something. Is it fine in your eyes for Bioware to use the same textures for PC that they use for the Xbox 360, given the fact that the modern gaming PC has far more available VRAM and system memory, plus orders of magnitude more computational power?
Would it be fine in your book, for a theoretical Mass Effect 4 that will run on the Xbox 720 (or whatever the hell it's going to be called) to have the same texture and graphical quality as it's predecessor, despite running on more advanced hardware?
I'm starting to hate console elitists who think their game machines should represent the upper limit of graphical fidelity in gaming, while willfully ignoring the obvious advantages that a PC comes with. The kicker is that when PC players start to point out said advantages, console fanboys scream "Elitist!" and shut them down.
Of course, when a game like Battlefield 3 comes along that offers significantly higher-quality graphics and a higher player count to PC players, actually utilizing the hardware capabilities of the average gaming PC, console players **** about it anyway. Does that seem right to you?

F*ck that. I hate tedious inventory and petty fetch-quests. It's the dialogue, story, and character customization that make it an RPG for me.Mesina2 wrote...

Again, you don't have to pay no where near that price. Way less than half of that will give better experience than console. On top of that you gain higher resolution for that ridiculously large screen. I can hook my PC to TV when I want. There's nothing stopping me from doing that. For your information PC's have had game controllers forever. I use Xbox 360 pad for racing games myself. That comment has more fail than win. I'm out, no point in arguing with clueless console lovers.
1. You surely could hook up your pc to your tv. It'll look positively stupendous on your tv stand. The glowing neon lights in the case and the water cooler lines will certainly add a certain je ne se qua to the living room decor.
2. i not know cortoller for pc. me not trust you. tell gavorn we not kill anyone today.
Of course you can do all these things. It's still an inconvenience. For a fourth of what you pay for a rig, I get a console ready to go. No additional hardware. No additional cables. Ten minutes out of the box. I'm playing. I've got a wife and a kid on the way, Graphics are not nearly enough of a reason for me to spend at least twice what a console costs.

I was at the Eurogamer Expo and had a go on ME3 at first glance it just all looked brighter, and then the same usual static boring empty enivironments, same robotic moving characters and then alas Commander Shepard with his robot face emotionless look.
Since this is supposed to be the end in the trilogy the final attack etc I would have thought Bioware would have put more time and effort in making this game look epic and feel epic.
Why not give the characters a better feel and look? Why not make the characters seem important? Why not include things in the environment?
Also in ME1 it was all about being a Spectre however it did have some feeling of importance when you became one yet in 2 it means nothing and in 3? Well time will tell.
Again Mass Effect 1 is still the best, not only did it look great but it was an RPG it had loot and all sorts personally having tried ME3 its just ME 2.5 at best its a big shame I was seriously hoping given Biowares reputation on making some pretty awesome games that ME3 would have had a lot more to in it.
But I guess thats what happens when you go over to EA...You are forces to make games yearly...If only you guys has gone with Microsoft and kept it exclusive eh?
ME2 came out Jan. 2010. ME3 is coming out March 2012.
25 months of development. More, actually, since according to BW pre-ME2, they started on ME3 shortly before they even released ME2.
Oh, did I mention that ME3 did get delayed? Boy, they really did rush it!

Though I'm wierd. I sometimes think that ME1 looks better than ME2.
